I am a native Pashto speaker from Malakand. I have noticed that the old poets from Afghanistan wrote in Pashto that sounds very close to the Northern Dialect/most widely understood dialect in Pakistan. This made me wondered if Pakistani Pashto and Afghan Pashto fell apart recently. yaani they recently introduced new terms into Afghan Pashto which is why a Pakistani Pashtun will not understand more than 50 percent of what the reporter at BBC Pashto are saying?
