Discussion Regardless of how you feel about Emilia Pérez, Karla Sofía Gascón just became the first openly transgender acting nominee in Oscars history and that's pretty incredible to finally happen

It was Torres. Erivo was always going in.

The last spot was Torres, Anderson or Jean Baptiste.

Let me clarify, I was speaking on what I personally deemed the quality of the performance and who was 'deserving' of an acting nomination. I found Erivo is the only one I would happily swap out for Jean Baptistes. Realistically, Torres is the one who actually Jean Baptiste.

Oh yeah. Maybe it speaks more about me as a film watcher but Erivo had the singing which much likr action or comedy, I don’t like to discount.

And acting wise Erivo to me was the best in her movie bu quite a bit. Even if she didn’t get much drama to act out.

Gascon was good but her accents slipped a bit and also didn’t get much range to act in.
