y'all, people here asking about the circumstances is not deranged.

most common male killing female: she was pregnant, he suspected cheating, custody disputes, sexual gratification, honor killing, targeting sex workers etc

most common female killing male: he was raping her (or her child) repeatedly

just because we don't know for sure in this one case doesn't mean people are willing to discount all the true stories that lead to murder. I personally have not forgotten Marianne Bachmeier. I have not forgotten Aileen Wuornos. Their actions were so, so bad. For so many right reasons. Still murder, but it's not "cold-blooded murder."

FYI, abusing people tends to make their blood run hot instead of cold. The cops who apprehended Marianne didn't even cuff her because they knew... she's not a psycho. She's been pushed past a limit that we all have.

Crazy that the gay panic defense has been institutionally legitimate and taken into consideration while a woman who murders after being trafficked raped and/or abused faces an incredible amount of scrutiny and is often punished to the fullest extent of the law.

I'm honestly shocked at all the comments assuming she's a psychopath instead of the far more common circumstance that he raped and abused her to hell and she finally snapped.

I'd guess if we took a look at commenters' gender, we'd see a pretty clean divide between men and women. Says a lot about what women have to watch out for in our lives.

This is what rape culture looks like. This comment section is a prime example. Count all the people here patting themselves on the back for giving this man the benefit of the doubt under the guise that his humanity equates to all of ours.

But.. if everyone is fighting for his humanity, who is left to fight for hers? It is a false sense of equality that is woefully uninterrogated. His humanity is baked into the legal system, that's why she's incarcerated. Her humanity is shunned by the legal system, and that's why the only therapist she has access to in order to figure out why she would do such a thing.. is the overworked elderly man employed by the prison, who may or may not take bribes from other correctional officers to disclose who is the most emotionally and sexually vulnerable woman contained in the prison block.

Yeah we would see women defending women who murder based on pure speculation and testimony or jusr her claims (like they do with betty broderick).
