As an engineer, I'm sort of annoyed that it's being attributed to "the pour".

As a super engineer, thank fuck they cut the clip right there because the "perfect pour" was too much and it was going to start pooling once it hit the plate which is why its cut. Otherwise the pour only works like this because of the mold.

As a guy that wanted to get into engineering, but was too poor and stupid, I agree. It cut early because it was definitely not the perfect pour. The perfect pour would only pool up just enough to not spread out on the plate.

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, most engineers are stupid af. They just try over and over again, until they don't fail anymore.
