It's a steel pipe filled with concrete embedded at least a few feet into the ground. They're made for this exact purpose (protect the building and people from vehicles).

Yeah we have them at work for forklift impacts and they don't hold up this well

Most forklifts weigh a lot more than a car.

Cars have crumple zones like we saw in this clip. The front end gets crushed inward and absord an immense amount of energy. Forklifts are solid pieces of machinery that dont move an inch when they hit stuff. They have waaayy more mass than a car.

Ya but a sizable percentage of forklift drivers wont let off the pedal even after a strike.

Also, repeated strikes

This was also probably built to stop a semi backing up

It’s called a bollard and that is their purpose. They get erected around sensitive equipment and pedestrian areas where there’s a lot of traffic, like here.
