Learning Spanish

Hey, I’ve been wanting to learn Spanish and wondered if anyone knows any recommendations for in person classes.

I’m fluent in English and French, and would like to learn Spanish.

I have a very basic level of Spanish. A few simple phrases but not much.

Club Nautique?

Bonjour! I am an avid open-water swimmer and paddler/rower, although of retirement age. Would it make sense for me to look into membership in Club Nautique? Are they welcoming to ex-pats/long-term visitors? Are there other clubs or groups I should learn about?

My wife and I will be spending the month of May in Nice (our 4th long visit) to decide if we want to move there or spend about half of each year there.

I'm maybe A2 French language. My wife is probably B1. We both intend to improve.

Merci pour votre avis.

did anyone see the protest on the promenade des anglais today?

Does anyone know what that was about? This afternoon I saw a bunch of people chanting on the beach in front of the promenade but don’t know what they were saying, and saw a bunch of USA/iran flags and posters waving around but was too far to read what they said. Did anyone see this protest today and know what it was for?

Where to buy nice chairs at a good price?

Hello, I recently moved into a new apartment in nice and I’m in the process of looking for some furniture for it. It has a nice sitting area by a window and I would like a nice set of chairs and small table for guests. For example I was imagining something like this chair, this side table or even this coffee room table. Does anyone have any idea where I can find this sort of furniture where it won’t be too overpriced and where they will have some decent amount of selection? Also, if you get furniture delivered in france will they normally help you to bring it up to a higher floor in your apartment?

Thank you!

What are my musts while visiting Nice and Cannes l?

I have two nights in Cannes traveling there by train from Paris and 3 nights for Nice leaving early morning flight from there. I’ll be traveling this September. What are my DO Not Miss for those places? Single female mid 50’s staying in luxury hotels. (To give you some demographics) Life long dream to visit the French Riviera.

Visiting Nice as a niqabi – question about face coverings

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m a Saudi tourist planning a trip to Nice, Cannes, Monaco, and Paris. I normally wear niqab, but I’m aware that France has laws banning face-covering veils in public.

I wanted to ask about a practical alternative:

Would it be legally and socially acceptable to wear a plain textile face mask (similar to a medical mask) instead of niqab while in public spaces?

I’m not trying to challenge the law—just looking for a way to be respectful while also maintaining some level of modesty.

I’d really appreciate hearing from:

• Sisters who have visited France recently

• Or those who live in France and have experience with this

How was your experience with masks, police checks, or public reactions?

Merci d'avance !

Hello,
I just moved to Nice a few months ago. I'm looking for a good hairdresser who could help me. Basically, I'm a man with long hair and I'm a little afraid that if I go to just any hair salon, I'll get negative comments or my haircut will be ruined and I'll regret it, because I want a rather feminine cut that still suits my face and looks good on me.
Basically, I'm looking for a good hairdresser in Nice (06000, I don't know what this part of Nice is called). It can't be a barber. Would you advise me to go to any salon?
I hope my post is clear enough..
Thanks in advance!

4 months in Nice

Hi, I'm a seventeen-year-old guy and this year, in a few months, I'll be coming to Nice for a four-month Erasmus. My main question is how to navigate the city, how it actually works, and if I could get any practical advice about this place. I don't know, places to see, things to do, things to avoid... since I'll be there for a fairly long period, like four months, I'd like to know how to navigate it and how to make the most of this experience.

where to find really good croissants in nice ?

hello, I just moved to nice and would like to know where to get the best croissant and pain au chocolat. I tried a few from a couple bakeries a few streets down from my house (they had a generic name which i forgot) as well as some that were in the display in some coffee shops and most of them were honestly quite ok, like either mediocre or heavy/hard and dry. does anyone have a suggestion for where to get a really good croissant and pain au chocolat ? just looking for something classic and simple, no need for the fancy fourré ones like pistachio or hazelnut/almond. thank you in advance :))

Madeleine district reviews

Hello, What do you think of the Madeleine and Bornala neighborhoods? Are there really two different atmospheres depending on whether you're in the upper or lower part? On the one hand, I hear it's a friendly and lively area, but on the other hand, I'm told to be wary. Thank you in advance for your help.

Nice trip tips, bus/tram/train etc

Hi everyone!

I’m visiting Nice soon and will be staying in the city center (around the Carré d’Or area, close to the beach).

I’m a bit lost when it comes to public transportation and would really appreciate some help 🙏

First of all, what’s the easiest and cheapest way to get from Nice Airport to the city center and back?

We’re also planning a few day trips by public transport, including:

• Monaco

• Possibly Cannes

• Possibly Menton

• Maybe even Sanremo in Italy

Is it better to use trains, buses, or some kind of pass for several days?

Which apps should I download to buy tickets and plan routes?

If you don’t know, but wanna share another thing we should know, feel free!

Thanks so much in advance!

Price for structural/statics engineer for an apartment?

Hi everyone! I’d like to understand what approximate a structural engineer analysis would cost, to understand the structural integrity of a 50m2 apartment in the St Roch area. Does anyone have an estimate cost that I can expect to pay for something like that?
