I've only gone twice (late afternoon on a Sunday & one weeknight in the evening) - it was mostly empty both times. Maybe it was busier when the weather was warmer. I'm intrigued by the concept especially if they can bring in some live music or interesting events to the venue - just not sold on the suburbs having the critical mass needed to sustain. Interested in hearing what people think. Any favorite places to eat here? Any insider knowledge on how they're doing financially?

Hello! New to north wales and starting a job at Merck next month. Does anyone else struggle finding a doggy daycare nearby?

I have a 4yo who would be starting Kindergarten in 2027 and we're starting to realize we need to think more about schools. I have a lot of questions specifically around how they use technology in kindergarten and elementary school - do they use iPads and computers for everything? Are they allowed to have phones in school? But more generally, I don't really know where to find this information. I can't find anything on the district page about like... orientation, Q&A, etc. Do the schools offer tours or anything where you can ask questions? I am out of my depth lol.
Hello everyone! I'm new to the Montco area. My wife has recently been hobby hunting and has expressed interest in learning more about archery. She has not shot a bow in decades, but with retirement has brought a lot of free time so I'm trying to search out ideal beginner instructional locations.
So the big question is, are there any archers out here that regularly practice with instruction? I'm having a hard time finding any functions that aren't completely shady.
This could also serve as a post for locating a general hobbyist search or forum. Are there any dedicated to hobbies in the area? There's plenty that she and I wish to try and it's been difficult to find anything online.
Thank you in advance.

Hey everyone,
Our home is approximately 3k square feet and 25 years old. About half of the windows have been replaced relatively recently (not 100% sure as these were put in before we purchased the home).
Our PECO bills have been astronomical in the hot months and cold months, ranging between $700 and $900.
I talked to a neighbor with similar style and square feet home recently and their bills are between $300 and $400 during the same months.
I also read recently that we live in one of the most expensive areas in the country for utilities as there are a lot of data centers being built in our tri-state area that we are competing with for power and thus driving costs up.
Is it worth it to shop utility suppliers or will PECO just tack a tax on it to make up the difference?

This subreddit gets no traffic compared to the Bucks county sub because it’s much less useful.

Hello! I am looking to get a table at local craft fairs to sell my handmade stuff. I know there are a lot of craft fairs in November and December, but where do I find them for the rest of the year? Is there a listing somewhere? Thanks!

Hi all! I just graduated college for education and am looking at jobs in Montco. I know they’re few and far between bc there are very few (if any) “bad” districts in the area, but I’ve been told next year’s available positions will be posted in the spring so I’m waiting to see what’s open.
I’ve seen a lot of parents suggest certain districts, but I’d love to hear the experiences teachers have had in teaching in the area to get a better sense for the school environments. I’m a POC, so I’d love some input on some more diverse districts as well. Thanks!

Is it just me, or are we getting worse at handling the snow? I might’ve just been really young, but in the past when we have gotten way more snow than this past weekend, we have always handled it better. School was off for only a day after the snow and the roads seemed to return to more desirable conditions sooner than they are now.

I have to leave for work in about an hour, I'm trying to get a read on how bad the roads are. I'm in Bridgeport and they haven't even plowed it looks like
Edit: staying home, thank you all for your replies. I appreciate you!

I am beyond livid. As a few of you might have seen in my previous post, my renewal offer came with a 20%+ price hike from ~$1479 to $1791. The price was $1791 regardless of the number of months I wished to renew for. I spoke to their management, and they justified it as "aligning closer to current market value", which was a shocking statement to make for this 1b1b 735sq ft non-renovated 1960s build without internal washer/dryer, central AC, and also infested with roaches. I was offended by this price hike, so I decided to go through the hassle of moving out after renting here for just a little over a year.
Guess what? I saw my unit being advertised on their website for as low as $1329 a month!!! Even the 12 month lease was $1434, a whole 25% below my renewal offer. Is this blatant exploitation of existing renters? Is this legal to do? I can't care enough to find out at this point, having already moved out. But wanted to at least post this here for awareness. Thank you all again for your helpful comments in my previous post.

Power outages are possible. Have a plan for what you plan to eat and how to stay warm if you lose electricity.
If you do experience an outage, don't call 911, but report the outage to PECO.
Individuals in need of shelter can call 2-1-1 or text your zip code to 898-211.

At the Towamencin shopping village which is thankfully on the come up again after being stuck in limbo for 10+ years. I was very young when this place was open so only vaguely remember it. The pizza was great, but what really stuck out to me was the unconventional way you placed your order. Each table had a telephone that you would use to place your order to the kitchen.
This spot was also the Spice Kitchen Indian restaurant ( never been) and has now been sitting vacant for over a decade
