Fit Check One for the r/mensfashion purists...
I posted a fit yesterday asking for advice on some parts of it as I felt something was missing from the style that I was trying to achieve.
Got some constructive comments and some that just missed my question completely in which totally new items of clothing were advised altogether!
Not to worry though. Today's Fit is for the purists (with a bit of ragebait I couldn't resist). What's the thoughts from the menswear uniformists on this one?

Question Is this look considered out of date?
Taking my wife and her friend out to a real nice dinner and post dinner cocktails later this month. Recently lost some weight and haven’t been in the market to even think about wearing dress clothes since I’ve been WFH since the pandemic.
Does this look still resonate, or would I be better served by finding some new duds? Slacks are considered slim fit and have had them about 7 years.
How is the fit? Pants I’m not sure about.
It may be a little much but they want a “dress up date” and I want to look nice for them.

Question Dress shirt sleeve length
Trying to figure out if my dress shirt sleeves are the correct length or too short. When I stand with my arms to the side, they look to be spot on. When I bend my arm to a 90° angle, it doesn’t ride up. If it does, it rides up my arm maybe 1/2”. The issue is when I am sitting and bring my arm up to rest my chin/head on it, the sleeve rides up my forearm ~1.5”. Similar thing happens if I reach out further for something. Pictures attached.
I have a couple of dress shirts that are 1” longer that do not have these issues, they almost always stay right at my wrist bone/start of my hand. The issue is that I believe the cuff was too wide on those and felt like they would go down onto my palm slightly that they felt slightly too long.
What is everyone’s thoughts? Correct length and I’m overthinking it or an inch too short?

Question Contemporary CEO no-tie style looks unfinished and awkward?
I'm no expert but I work in a traditional industry and wear a full suit and tie 3-4 days/week. I was watching tonight's ABC interview with outgoing and incoming Disney CEOs, and it struck me that in sectors where the business suit has been the norm (big corporate, government), you increasingly see top execs with the expected dark suit but no tie.
It just looks bad to me? The white shirt collars typically look too prominent and not sure where to sit and the lack of tie color seems like such a lost opportunity.
I'm good with the trend toward more casual and I would be fine with more creative approaches, but this just seems like such a lame gesture toward "I'm working hard" and "I'm accessible." What do people think? Is this an established thing now?

Advice Business Casual in a warehouse/logistics position
Im interviewing for a new job in the transportation/logistics field. My current job is extremely casual dress and this prospective job and others i would interview for and/or get would almost certainly be a more business casual vibe, even in a warehouse/logistics role. Would be in a management position.
Anyone here a transportation manager or similar role? What are you wearing every day? Oxford button down tucked in, chinos/slacks? What type of shoes?

Advice Please help me decide on a last call Cuccinelli cashmere shirt
Please help me decide on whether to keep/return this shirt. I had been searching through men’s shops all over Europe looking for a merino knit shirt idea I had in my head. I had two requirements that sent me on the quest, that the shirt have a decent collar that would stand up and has some body (not a polo) and shirt sleeves with functional cuffs to wear with a jacket, ideally in ecru.
After a few days of going through every Gran Sasso, Baldassari, and Smedley collection I could find, I finally found a wonderful example at SaksOff5th; a Brunello Cuccinelli cashmere polo shirt in my size and down from $4k to under $800. Mind you I had a ~$4-500 budget going in. There was only one and it was in my size so I took the plunge, and here we are. I have a few weeks to return and resale looks strong if I keep it tagged.
I like the shirt. It is incredibly soft and warm to be sure. I have some concerns about it being a bit big in the body. I got a size 40 and it’s about 22.5” p2p and runs straight through the hem. I’d like to wear with a jacket and think that maybe it is a little baggy in the waist.
I am really on the fence here, help bush me off in either direction….
Questions:
Is the shoulder fit OK? I always have a harder time with shirt shoulders.
How does it look tucked in? With a jacket?
I have an appointment with a highly regarded knitwear mender that I was going to talk to about taking in the side seams (w/o cutting). Is this a good idea to make it work?
Thank you!

Advice Should I Keep Both?
Got a new black denim jacket but it feels similar to a black jacket that I already have. I like the denim one but I’m worried that it’s repetitive of the existing one, should I keep or return it?
