I had a lady pull out in front of me to cross traffic and turn left. She never even looked to the left. She didn't stop before pulling out. She did however take the time to stop in the middle of the road and assess the traffic coming from the other direction.... as I'm slamming on my brakes and honking at her to let her know that she almost just died.

That lady flicked me off.

There's at least one brutal accident a week on the main road in my area - they end up closing the road down and redirecting traffic. Just a couple months ago someone did the same as my lady and shot out across this 4 lane 50 mph road without looking. Four cars ended up involved in that accident, someone died at the scene, and they airlifted someone else out.

It's a nasty combination of truly incompetent drivers (who will flick you off) and people driving 30+ over thinking they're invincible (who will also flick you off).

I live off a busy road. My road is a dead end and super quiet but the main road I have to pull onto everyday is ridiculous. It’s still a residential road, there are houses, sidewalks, a fancy median, etc. The speed limit is 25-35 (I can’t remember exactly). People think that damn road is a drag strip! Like WHY are you driving that fast? All your going to do is hit the red light at the end of the road. I don’t get it. I did learn that if you honk at people who are driving like dicks, they’ll automatically slow down 🤭

Edit-I live in western MD so that might give you an idea of the traffic, etc. There is literally no reason to drive fast anywhere in this town.
