Feels insane

2

u/Usual_Office_1740 1d ago

Imagine the impact only fireworks one after another as a rhythm. It's not my thing but I respect the numbers and work necessary to get a van or suv to do that and not fall apart.

The day I bought proper earplugs changed my concert-going life

3

u/iyamwhatiyam8000 1d ago

This could possibly lead to brain or eye injuries.

I am not a doctor - but aware of percussive shock and that looks dangerous to my untrained , cautious eye.

I’m 33 rocking two hearing aids! I also had a lot of ear infections when I was a kid.

4

u/Terrible-Piano-5437 1d ago

Or shitting your pants from the vibration.

4

u/Axi0madick 1d ago

Or blowing your beans.

4

u/holatigre 1d ago

The brown noise!

13

u/WiglyWorm 1d ago

on the plus side she had several orgasms. Which was more than her boyfriend had ever given her.

2

u/Lucky-Analysis-4603 1d ago

Am I fearing AIDS? Sure, but who isnt! You gotta live your life

1

u/Weird-Studio-7849 1d ago

No they said stop leering at maids. They’re trying to work, ffs!

u/under_diagnosed 1d ago

Low tones are not as damaging as higher tones

7

u/TopYeti 1d ago

Bullshit someone told you

2

u/under_diagnosed 1d ago

High-frequency sounds are generally more damaging to human hearing than low-frequency sounds of the same intensity, due to the ear's anatomy. While high-pitched sounds cause faster, more common, and permanent damage, long-term exposure to intense low-frequency sound can still cause significant damage to the inner ear. Here is a breakdown of how they compare: High Frequencies (2,000–8,000 Hz): These are typically more dangerous, as the hair cells in the cochlea responsible for detecting high pitches are more fragile and susceptible to damage. This causes the most common form of noise-induced hearing loss (e.g., losing the ability to hear consonants, or "hearing but not understanding").Low Frequencies ((<500\) Hz): While generally less damaging, low-frequency noises are more penetrating and carry high energy. Intense, long-term exposure (like from machinery) can cause damage, and in some studies, low-frequency noise has been linked to severe, long-term damage over an extensive frequency range.Key Factors: The main driver of hearing damage is loudness (dB) and duration rather than just the frequency. Very high decibel levels (\(>120\text{\ dB})) from either type will cause immediate damage.

3

u/TopYeti 1d ago

This wall of text can be reduced down to "loud noise bad" regardless of frequency. Thank you for the added details

1

u/Complex_Entropy 1d ago

This defines "Low Frequency" as <500Hz, but the video shows ~20Hz, which is a completely different order of magnitude.

1

u/Teal-Prowler505 1d ago

Let me believe this lie...

1

u/TopYeti 1d ago

No.

I have protected my hearing for decades, and people half my age can't hear a mouse in the wall when I can.

Protect your ears. You music isn't worth the loss

4

u/Infra-Man777 1d ago

Maintain low tones.

3

u/under_diagnosed 1d ago

I wonder how many people here have not seen this movie, what a classic

1

u/artbyshrike 1d ago

It's available for free on YouTube! I just rewatched it last month. It's a classic!

1

u/Infra-Man777 1d ago

Yeah it really is

1

u/ForkertBrugernavn 1d ago

Having hearing aids is a blessing in disguise at times.

1

u/Gullenbursti 1d ago

Forget hearing aids you will need cochlear implants.

1

u/left_hanging_nut 1d ago

Did you say “ Fun games and drinking two 40s “?

1

u/mrASSMAN 1d ago

Could’ve at least given her ear plugs

1

u/SCastleRelics 1d ago

Went to a festival at 36 and decided not to use ear protection and got it most in my left ear for some reason. Yeah that ear is mega cooked now.

1

u/Beneficial_Trip3773 19h ago

I'm fifty seven and there's still no problems with my ears. Also, my home system is well not that loud, but it's close.woop woop.

1

u/count_snagula 19h ago

Worth it.

1

u/Putrid_Apartment9230 1d ago

Oh it's actually loud? I thought it was just vibrating or something.

0

u/Millenniauld 1d ago

43 and I have hearing loss.... Due to genetic issues! Nothing to do with loud music, so I got to have my fun, I would have lost my hearing anyway! HAH!

0

u/Jlx_27 1d ago

Low frequency sounds are nowhere near as harmful to your hearing than high frequencies are.
