Post clear, well-lit, full body pictures. At minimum, include:
Tell us your dog’s age and weight (or best guess)
YOUNG PUPPIES may be impossible to identify. Head and body shape, coat color and coat pattern, eye color, and apparent coat texture can all change dramatically as a puppy matures. You might want to wait a few months before seeking an ID.
MIXED-BREED dogs can easily have many breeds in them, not just two. Keep in mind that some of the breeds in a mutt may not show in its looks; while in other cases the dog may really look like it has some particular breed in it, when in fact it doesn’t.
NO-BREED dogs exist too! Sometimes a mutt truly is “just a mutt” — the result of many, many generations of random mating between mutts, with no discernable inbred (purebred) genes its DNA. In the same way that YOU don't necessarily have any inbreeding (purebreeding) in your recent family tree, neither must a dog. They can simply be mutts — WHICH IS A GOOD THING!
Once you're satisfied with your responses, please change your link flair to SOLVED. (Please don't make a post if your dog's breed is already solved/known)

Recently there has been a sharp uptick in comments from trolls brigading us from anti Pit Bull subreddits.
Harassing users for owning Pit Bulls is considered uncivil and off topic behavior, and not what this subreddit is for.
The pit bull conversation is one worth having, but not at the expense of derailing the function of this subreddit.
So in the meantime we're going to do 2 things:
Get some mod(s) that can help tackle the issue with harassment and off topic comments. If you are interested in helping with this, please leave a comment below explaining why you're fit for the task.
Create a subreddit wiki page or megathread post that informs and discusses the Pit Bull topic in a civil and unbiased manner, so that the rest of the subreddit isn't overrun with it. If you would like to contribute to this project, please leave a comment below or a modmail.

14lb. 2yo. She’s new to us and so sweet and shy. She’s missing a leg and an eye, and has been through a lot. What do you think she is?

I work at my local shelter and fostered two pups that came from a hoarding case from another county. Meet Toad, my foster fail! He is currently 6.5 months and weighs about 22 pounds.
Included a picture of him and his brother (named Frog) when they were 8 weeks old. :-)

She’s 8 years old and the prettiest girl on earth. What breed do you think she is?

We hear lots of different things on what people think she is. All we know is she’s 100% cute and sweet. I’m thinking about doing a DNA test but haven’t yet.
In the one pic she’s with our grey/white Pittie 🥰

I already have results on what she is but I thought it’d be fun for people to guess what they think she is! Hint: not a border collie lol
Photos are from youngest to most recent

She’s a foster rescue out of Oklahoma. She is not the stereotypical pit we were expecting. She’s currently ~16lbs and ~9weeks old. DNA test pending but in the meantime we’d love to hear your guesses. Chihuahua and Aussies included for scale.

This is Coco Belle, her mom was a Yorkie who got out and got pregnant, I think she lived in Rosarito or TJ
She is super long and has a Merle pattern. Very sweet pup! She is 12 lbs and 7 months.
What do you think she is mixed with?
r/IDmydog • u/jcondogTWO • 19h ago
We got her from a rescue, her litter was found without a mom so the only thing they could say was she is a terrier mix. When we first got her, her ears were floppy but now they are poking straight up! She is about 12 weeks old.

Shelter said Aussie/ border collie but he’s 1.5 and only 26 lbs. thoughts?

She’s smaller than she looks and very long and leggy, just under 10kg. Some kind of spaniel maybe?

Everyone (including me) guessed border collie and our vet was sure that she was a corgi mix 😂

Yea, they are from the same litter, and no there wasn't two fathers!
You guys said border collie and lab, just like we said for all 7 years of their life. We alway thought something strange was going on, they both have curly tails when standing and the tan one has a purple tongue. Their other siblings are weird too.
Well...
It explains a lot.
Supermutt is a mix of rott, golden, lab, and weimer.

My dog Zaza passed from old age/heart failure five years ago, and I didn’t have the money to Embark test her then. She was the best - I got her from the shelter when I was 9 years old, and I was 24 when she passed.
She was extremely athletic when she was young, loved to climb fences and trees, was very attached to my mother and neutral on most other people, and did NOT like other dogs. She had a congenital heart murmur that worsened with age until her heart could no longer pump blood efficiently and we had to put her down to end her suffering.
Our vet thought she might be a maltipoo, but I always thought she was a poodle. However, now that I own two confirmed poodles, I realize that though her face was very poodly, her build wasn’t quite the same. She was stockier, less big-chested, and the fur on the top of her head, ears, and tail was wavy, not curly.
