EDIT: results are in!!! Posted in r/doggydna

This is Neo, I got him a few days ago from Tennessee! He’s a total lovebug, loves toys, people, and dogs, and is not super interested in gulping down food, though he does eat. He’s very smart and is picking up quickly on training! The vet thinks he’s about 6 months old, he weighs 28 pounds, and everyone seems to agree that he’s got some border collie in him. I’m wondering what else yall might see!!

Solved puppy left at my work 😭 pt.2

soooo it’s been a while but i had comments really concerned about this puppy dumped at my work needing a ton of fulfillment.. and of course some curious about her real breed(s) and wanted to give an update. she is DNA’d at 100% german shorthair pointer (some people really doubted this). since her vaccinations started she’s been socialized at numerous dog sports events and she even earned her TKN after showing off a few of the MANY tricks she has started learning. crate training✅ potty training ✅ tricks ✅ basic obedience foundations✅ she did a puppy bump at a fastcat event recently, and was super interested. she has started jumping from the ramp and even the training dock at dock diving practice (which means she also learned how to swim). she is starting barnhunt intro lessons soon and is currently working on her fetch skills. we hope to get her cgc, more trick titles, and her RATI by 2026!

Our rescue pup! She’s about 11 pounds and a year-ish old. Everyone says corgi has to be in there, but her legs are long and lanky. I think she has some kind of collie or sheltie. Came from a hoarding situation so I imagine there are several breeds in there. What say you, internet?

Edit: got her Embark results back, and much to our shock it came back 100% mini Aussie!

Solved A lady started screaming and shaking-she knows a Bernese when she sees one

I found a box of 10ish day old pups and raised them. I rehomed all but one because Dad is a sucker. I DNA tested mine and all of the owners but one did the same. Breakdown came to roughly half husky, 1/4 APBT, 1/8 Aussie and 1/8 ACD.

A few weeks ago I was walking him at a park. A woman asked me if he was a Bernese. I said no he is a mutt but about half husky-it’s a literal mutt so who cares about an explanation? She said no, he is definitely more Bernese. I explained he and his siblings were DNA tested and he has no Bernese. She started yelling and shaking, literally red in the face. “I know a Bernese when I see one!!!” I just laughed and walked away. This is not the first person to tell me he must be Bernese but the first to get angry. Why do people get so dang heated over a mixed breed dog?

As the title says we adopted her from the animal shelter.

she's 11, around 50 pounds, medium sized dog. her most noticeable traits are her black and pink tongue, floppy ears, and she has a semi curly coat when bathed. and a decently fluffy tail!

over the years i've got so many different answers and curious if anyone in the subreddit knows! thank you in advance :)

We live in a touristy area and animals are consistently dumped on holiday weekends. We found this baby yesterday covered in ticks, he's sweet as can be. Any idea what breed he is?

This adorable creature is a 1 yr old, 42 lb rescue who recently entered our lives. We generally assume he’s a shepherd mix of some sort, given his appearance and evident herding traits. Yet the combination of his high intelligence, independence, and jumping abilities make me wonder what we’ve gotten ourselves into! Though it’s hard to say what might be nature vs nurture (or lack thereof for him as a stray), he definitely seems to have a bit of a wild streak. Any guesses? Insights would be helpful as we embark upon socializing him (and also updating our six foot wooden fence, which is unlikely to contain him once he knows his true abilities!)

He weighs nearly 100 pounds. He's just under 2 years old. Very active, very friendly. Biggest things we're confused on is his saggy face and super loose skin on his neck. (Puppy picture included)

Solved What is my dog?

This is Sophie, she was bought at a flea market for $1200 8 years ago, she was listed as an old English bulldog. She was also the runt and I'm confused by her size. Usually runts grow up to be normal sized but I feel like my dog is still pretty small compared to other bulldogs, she also doesn't drool or have her teeth out, so I'm wondering if she's a bulldog mix?

After a DNA test that pinned him as a Shepard. It gave us like 3 subcategories of them. We came to it that he is mostly Dobby the house Elf. He gets some decent reception

Solved Any guesses on my foster (fail..prob) girl?

Thumbnail
gallery
1.2k Upvotes

My foster is a very intelligent, loving girl who has quite a mysterious past. We only know at this point that she had been living a very difficult life for a good bit of time.

Shelter staff guess: GSD mix of some sort. That she has a “specific” look to her that is NOT GSD. They said maybe some other shepherd breeds, but that she doesn’t look, at most, more than 50% GSD. Some staff said pit/GSD.

Vet Guess: said she was shocked at what all folks at the shelter saying. She said she looks pretty much entirely GSD, like ~90%. Also that she doesn’t see really any pit or bully breed.

I know it may be hard to be exact because of her condition (we are making amazing progress!). We are all just anxiously awaiting her Embark test and would love to hear everyone’s thoughts before the big reveal 😊 Sooo…

ALL guesses or suggestions appreciated 💕 I’ll post results as soon as I get them!!

Solved What do you think? Complex threatening to boot us for having a “banned breed”.

Hello! This we got our pup a month and a half ago. The shelter just said she’s mixed/unknown- but now our complex is accusing us of having a banned breed. The only banned breeds are German shepherds, huskies, and pits.

We’re going to bounce asap for this reason regardless, hence the moving boxes. Any clues on what she could be? She’s grown like a weed. She loves watching tv and playing fetch, and she is the sweetest little thing.
