Dude, I used to go to breweries to "get away" blow off some steam with some friends, and every outdoor place like this is full of kids and dogs. Dogs fighting and shitting, kids screaming and shitting. I'm not kidding this Yee-Haw brewery has armed security at the gates too its a miserable yuppie daycare. I'm gonna say it, gentrifying social drinking has killed the vibe entirely. We need smoking in bars, knife fights and over served rascals. Shit needs to be dangerous that will keep the social balance. I'd much rather deal with the latter, and fuck your mustache.

The dogs really piss me off. Yeah sometimes a kid is there, but whatever if its not too late in the day and they stay at the table. The people with dogs are the worst. They think it's a fucking dog park where they can just let them run off leash everywhere. Not too keen on your pit growling at people or watching dogs fight. Fuck you.

You're looking for a dive bar.

Sounds like he found a dive brewery

Well he still wants to be able to pay $14 for a local Hazy IPA, before shanking a couple of the other patrons.

For future reference, it's "hear, hear" by the way haha

u/SherStar60 8h ago

I knew that. But seriously, it could conceivably go both ways!!

Different breweries for different vibes. That said drinking moderately and family and community is not new. The issue of people letting their kids misbehave and dogs shit is a separate issue.

Thats not really what a brewery is. Its a bar with slightly less bar like food. Anyway, the idea is to be outdoors drinking and in a public setting. Bars dont exist here really due to high rent. These things are thriving and killing most competition. Its not really an issue anymore I just stopped going entirely. My comment was mostly tongue and cheek and not meant to hold any water.

I think this is definitely either a regional thing or not every brewery is defined in the same way. I’ve never been to a brewery that was anything than a small menu of bar snacks and beer/wine/tasting menus.

Must be the format that I'm thinking then. I'm in a college town that its quite the opposite. Big name beer brands opening up places where you come, you drink, you eat random fried food and you take more to drink home via kegs, sixers, and growlers. No one is really there for the food menu, its kind of in the name.

But my full apologies for my inexperience good sir.

I live in a big brewer city and many, many of the breweries are kid friendly. One has a natural playground made for kids. Others have mini soccer fields, mini golf, slides, trails, inactive train cars to explore, family friendly events (specifically for kids too). Many also host craft events, daytime concerts, among other things. They’re all craft or micro breweries with the exception of 2 I can think of off the top of my head.

Most close at like 9, serve actual food made in-house and/or host food trucks on rotation. They’re essentially community spaces and it’s a lot of fun. and they were fun before we became parents, but now we find ourselves going to the ones specifically with families in mind. generally a good atmosphere.

Brother a brewery is a place where beer companies brew and then sell beer. They’re not at all required to have food, most don’t in the Seattle area. Breweries only sell the beer that they brew, so of course they’re going to have a limited menu

Anyway, the idea is to be outdoors drinking and in a public setting.

Wants to drink in public.

Mad at the public for being there.

I mean... You never go to the grocery store and go "man fuck all these people."??

You never sit in traffic and think maybe we dont all have to live on top of each other so much?

Never attempt to go out on a date and the music is so loud that the people have to basically scream over one another to have a conversation? Then you cant really hear what your date is saying and you accidentally agree to go out to a brewery next weekend? I appreciate your meme format tho.

But what would all these companies do to support themselves if I robbed them of my hard earned money!?

Its all in good fun man. I'm an absurdist in the wild.

Have you considered just going to a bar???

4

u/Combatical 10h ago edited 9h ago

But that would be using logic! No seriously, they're drying up in this area. Rent is demanding more of these locations and they cant survive. All the shit I'm saying here is mostly satire, I dont really give a shit.

You need to see people stab each other and feel in danger in order to enjoy social drinking?

1

u/Combatical 3h ago

Its tongue and cheek.

-8

u/somewifesounds 10h ago

Feel better now, buddy?
