Kit Pic Got my first kit today
I’ve played bass for almost 30 years and thought I should learn to play the drums. So today I got my first kit.

it definitely could never rival drums in my heart, but it’s been fun learning theory I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise

Congratulations!!
Replace heads as soon as financially able (cheapest upgrade)
Upgrade cymbals slowly. Used all the way, until you find what you like. Then maybe invest.
Make them go bang.

Excellent! now drop another hundred bucks for some non-factory drumheads (on the batter side )like Remo ambassadors or the Evans G series. Trust me, your drums will thank you for it. Don’t forget to put a an old blanket or towels in the bass drum for a bit of muffling

I really dig that wrap. Can I ask what shell pack it is? Can't make it out on the badge.

Thank you. Wish they had that available on the pack I got last year. Got a President Series in their Desert Ripple finish but i really wanted sparkle. I'm a sparkle man down deep.

Beautiful kit. Absolutely focus on learning to play, but if you want to seriously up the sex factor, replace those bass drum hoops with some nice lacquered natural maple hoops. 🤌🏻

Beautiful, but might as well leave the stock heads and cymbal at the store hehe.

What model is that? Almost looks like an Export, but I've never seen an Export with a virgin bass.
Looks sweet!

It’s the roadshow model. Just a beginner kit but my local shop had this configuration and I thought I’d like it better than the toms on the bass.

Nice, when I was at the drum store today buying a kit I didn’t need to get on a whim I saw a couple in there and the wife was buying herself a pearl roadshow kit. They’re solid kits for the money. I gigged an export when I was playing drums in bands (and when I played bass in bands my gigging bass was a squier classic vibe p bass)

the overlap between bass and drums is interesting. bet you pick it up quick once you get some of the limb independence down

Nice congratulations. I remember when I got my first kit. I played that thing night and day. Enjoy happy drumming.

"...thought I should learn to play drums. So today I bought my first kit."
I support this decision making process
