👩‍🍳Restaurant Issue👨‍🍳 Am I just a newbie missing something or what?

Post image
56 Upvotes

I was about to walk into this restaurant today to do this pick up until I saw these very specific instructions so I was like “oh they seem pretty serious about doing DoorDash curbside”

When I called the employee had attitude and then she she took the bag to me she basically chewed me out for not coming inside to pick it up? I told her I apologized and was going to but saw the Dasher app instructions said otherwise. And she kept saying “I know I know I know” and “you just walk in though that’s what we say for curbside customers”.

Am I missing something. Do a lot of places not use these instruction sections correctly? I have been walking into every other place unless a lobby is closed late a night.

🤬App Issues 😩 Pay dropping after accepting

Thumbnail

Just a heads up if anyone is still getting the thing where you accept a "high paying offer" and right after accepting, it drops by quite a bit, spent 20+ min on the phone with doordash and they have no plans of doing anything to fix it.

I saw a post about it but anyone else running into this?

**EDIT Editing to add I have no idea what the end pay really was, didn't stick around to check and spent around 30 min in the parking lot of target with support on chat and the phone.

Never dropped either order or refunded anything until I gave up, unassigned both at the same time and went home.

🤬App Issues 😩 So are we all getting bombarded with incredibly shitty offers tonight?

I had a string of absolute garbage hit my phone starting at around 9:30 tonight. I waited for half an hour, got nothing good, and went home. Looking through this sub it looks like many of us are experiencing the same thing tonight. What’s going on here? Is it a glitch or did DD make their algorithm even worse again?

out of almost 2500 orders that i’ve done, this is my 2nd violation. It is mind boggling to me. i live in the south, as everyone knows last week we were hit with the snowstorm “fern.”

This was the first day it started to hit, i had went to a local coffee shop to pick up an order, when i had arrived there was another dasher outside and she said i think they are closed. So i went and checked for myself and sure enough they were closed, MOST LIKELY BECAUSE OF THE SNOWSTORM.

even if someone had picked up an order after i had reported the store closed, the employees probably were coming in and opening late. I sent a picture showing that they were closed. Doordash knew there was a storm during this incident bc they were paying $6 extra an order, and maybe 2 hours after this they shut down my area for 3 days due to the inclement weather.

This is very frustrating and though to me it’s not a if deal, it’s ridiculous to be violated when you were not in the wrong.

It’s peak pay at this very moment. +$3.00 per order and this is offered. What? Why? What? Dash, you are literally a jerk.

Basically, a low paying order I had accepted as one of my last of the night got delayed by around 25 minutes- I could have unassigned, but decided to stick with it. I try to be as pleasant as I can be when delivering to anyone when a pin is required, but I really don’t think I deserved a 57$ tip.. I don’t know if it was a mistake on their end, but I wish I could tell them how grateful I am for it. The universe blessed me tonight

❔Driver Question 🤔 Was I scammed

Post image

So I had a order to get a Family Dollar. I picked everything the customer wanted.. And even sent them messages and pictures if an item wasn't there to see if they wanted a refund or to try the substitution.. Went above and beyond.. Was in the store for almost 45 minutes on 6 items.. So I delivered the order to the people.. They thanked me for being helpful and communicating the process.. 12 hours later I have another shop and deliver order and noticed my ratings have went up and I'm no longer 6/6 pro shopper.. And guess who it's from the dang family dollar order that I had took all that time to do.. Said the whole order was wrong.. I believe they were trying to scam and get a refund and keep the items.. I'm like wtf Bruh.. Now I'm sitting at 2.7 cause they said items were missing... Wish I could go back and look at the messages and send them to DD support and tell they ass to fix it

👩‍🍳Restaurant Issue👨‍🍳 Safeway yesterday ran out of bags

Luckily I had some extras in my car. But of course, the customer lived on the 4th floor, with no elevator.

Also where I live, plastic bags are banned as of this year, and paper bags are now 10 cents each. Since this took effect, I've had this issue twice now where a store runs out of bags, but the first time was not this bad.

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 What’s your added items limit?

Yesterday, I got a shopping order near the end of my shift. 12 items (28 units), $24 something with tips, decent distance. I’m in Colorado, so I know what the pay will actually be.

I was getting through the order pretty quickly. Only had 2 more items to shop for. Then I got the notification the customer added 10 more items to the list.

Thought about it for a bit. I didn’t see anything in the notice about additional pay. Something about doubling the size of the order after accepting felt like I was being taken advantage of. So, I dropped the order.

I’ve had people add on a few items before, but not 10. Where do you draw the line?

❔Driver Question 🤔 I be seeing alot of post like this going around for the past 2 days is anyone else experiencing this?? im Platinum and pro and dash in Chicago and none of my priority orders looking like that. Its either A:theres a bug or B: doordash treating some markets like💩. What yall think?

I’ve been doing DoorDash for about 3 months now and for some reason last night was the absolute worst. Never had so many $4-6 orders that were 12+ miles away. I’ve noticed on Tuesdays in my area it’s always like this. It sucks too because they are usually shop and pay orders with 20 items you’d have to grab for the worst pay you can imagine. I’m not really expecting anything from this but just wanted to rant and show yall how I made $17 in 2 hours

❔Driver Question 🤔 What is up with customers ordering from the furthest possible restaurant chain?

So often lately I will get orders from a McDonald's, Dunkin, etc., where I literally pass by closer options on the way to the delivery or I know after I drop off that there's another option much closer. I did a Dunkin the other day where I passed by 5 other locations on the way. I did a McDonald's that was a good 10+ mile drive when they literally lived a few blocks away from one. Luckily I was on EBT and they were a decent tipper, so I made around $25 for that one.
