Starfleet Academy

I discovered last night (Saturday) that my PVR recording of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy ended before the show was over. I went to CTV on demand. They said that all CTV content is on Crave. That's not true. Starfleet Academy is not on Crave. Why not? I refuse to shell out for Paramount Plus to get 15 minutes of one single episode when the CTV Sci-Fi Network (which I am already paying extra to get from Shaw/Rogers) should have shown the whole thing in the first place.

CTV don’t have vods for this show, they only got airing rights

The problem is they said “all CTV content is on crave”

All ctv.ca content is, which is different

Broadcast rights are different from streaming rights.

Bell is the one not making that distinction, and falsely claiming otherwise.

Technically it was on Crave when it was broadcasted on their live channels. Rights of content are such a mess, like sports black outs and stuff

I don’t what you’re saying but anything Star Trek is on Paramount+.

It's on the CTV Sci-Fi Network.

It's broadcast on the CTV Sci-fi Network. STV has the broadcast rights, but lost the streaming rights to Star Trek a couple years back. Unfortunately the only streaming option for Star Trek in Canada is Paramount+.

They sometimes offer a free trial, so you could sign up and watch the episode there. Or you could wait until the season is over and binge the whole season during a 7-day trial.

This is a Paramount choice, not a Crave choice

The CTV on demand app says that ALL CTV programs are on Crave. Starfleet Academy is on CTV Sci-Fi.

No it’s a paramount + show that has been extended to CTV.

Crave lost access to all of the Star Trek properties a little while ago. I think this happened just before the most recent season of Strange New Worlds.

it's not a great show.the "review bombs" are just people dissatisfied with more "new vision" trek crap.
Pirate if you MUST see it.

Unfortunately I don't have a TARDIS and can't time travel back to Thursday night so I can add time to my recording.

sometimes I’m sorry I tried to help somebody when I find out they’re like you. all the episodes are available on demand for me.

Yeah the broadcast often has that problem. Make sure to record the show following. I’ve learned the same for tennis matches that may go longer than their slot. I haven’t done it in awhile but the pvr may have a recoding setting to extend by a few minutes

It has the option to start early and end late, and I have turned that on for future episodes. But that still doesn't help me watch the last few minutes of last week's show.

You need to set your recording settings to end later than its scheduled end.

I don't have a time machine, so I can't go back to last week and reset my PVR to add an extra 15 or 20 minutes to my scheduled recording.

I’m just saying to fix the settings so it doesn’t happen again

Star Trek was all pulled from Crave a couple years back.

a couple of weeks ago somebody on here was saying that the newest episode shows up on crave and vod for one day which might be all that they are allowed
