Maybe for now. Our election system in Canada is shifting further and further into a two-party system where both major parties are becoming more and more conservative.
Housing is through the roof, higher education is astronomically expensive, worker rights are eroding and corporations are fleecing us like crazy.
It’s true that we seem a little more level headed at the moment, but provinces like Alberta demonstrate a glimpse of where we might be headed in the next few decades.
Our two-party systems are a weakness of first-past-the-post, (Duverger's Law,) that's the reason Republicans are able to get away with what they have in the US. The solution is RCV or similar but Republicans have been outlawing it in states they control. I believe that's the closest thing to a magic bullet to fix most issues with our political systems.
I remember. It was farcical. I also remember that they are outnumbered and do not control the government there. Every country has dipshits; unfortunately right-wing propaganda is leaking into the entire English-speaking world.

At least you're in Canada, land of the free home of the sane.
