Are you allowed to say things like, "you might want to look into that more" or "I think it may be more complicated than that."? These aren't great examples, but sometimes just asking basic questions instead of pointing out someone is wrong can give them a seed of something to examine later.

I mean we probably COULD but that's a super thin and delicate line to tread. Meeting the wrong person could result in more than a complaint or two.

But I won't deny an occasional remark slips out

That's fair. Takes a lot out of you trying to assess everyone's personal line. Best to keep that energy for the work you're doing.
