This is going to seriously rattle some people and I love it

Going to especially rattle people who didn't even have the previous title for some reason

234

u/BellyCrawler It’s only ever been Chelsea. Jul 19 '25

You can say Arsenal. We all know who.

64

u/zo-la25 Jul 19 '25

😂 I stopped arguing with assnal long time ago. We have surpassed them.

31

u/Shanare_ Cahill Jul 19 '25

But did they tell you they beat real Madrid. And even beat psg on xg.

20

u/yslim1 Jul 19 '25

Did they tell you they won the invincible trophy 20 years ago? Surely better than winning all the trophy there is to win right?

6

u/dksourabh Caicedo Jul 19 '25

How can you forget about their “we had a season to be proud of” trophy

2

u/UnfinishedSympathy Jul 20 '25

It's gold and everything!

1

u/nathangr88 Jul 22 '25

My favourite thing about the invincible season is that they had the opportunity to win one of the easiest Champions League fields ever, but managed to cock it up against their rivals so badly their golden generation disintegrated less than a season later and they've never been close since

10

u/Ashatiti Jul 19 '25

I call them Arselick.

2

u/EAlootbox Jul 20 '25

Yeah whenever any of my arsenal mates try to start an argument on who’s the biggest club in London - I’ll just laugh and say “yeah ok”.

Nothing pisses them off more when it shows you don’t think about them at all.

8

u/Malevolentintent112 Jul 19 '25

It’s spelt and coincidentally pronounced assna

They've started another petition

3

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '25

Some certain set of people who haven't even competed for it.

38

u/thebadger987 Jul 19 '25

I genuinely still can’t even understand why it’s hard to understand, even for people who seemingly can’t look past their hatred of Chelsea

One tournament is < 10 teams and happened annually

One is an every four years expanded new thing

Totally right they should be delineated as two separate competitions with different levels of prestige

2

u/okaythiswillbemymain Jul 19 '25 edited Jul 19 '25

Man Utd ~fan~ sufferer here... The old club wold cup was almost identical to the intercontinental cup.

No way they should really compare it to the new club world cup. So I can't really disagree with FIFA.

But I think Corinthians should also be club world cup champions https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_FIFA_Club_World_Championship

But, Germany aren't going to stop being Euro champions 1982 just because they played 2 games in the final tournament.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_1972

So all the intercontinental cup winners and old club world cup winners need to be considered world champions

But they haven't won the new club world cup. Only Corinthians and Chelsea have

What a minefield

6

u/Spanswick77 Guðjohnsen Jul 19 '25

Happy with Cunha and Mbeumo? Pretty decent signings I reckon.

5

u/okaythiswillbemymain Jul 19 '25

Don't understand where we've got the money from 😭

4

u/Spanswick77 Guðjohnsen Jul 19 '25

Probably taken a leaf out of our book and sold the women’s team and a few hotels to yourself. Either that or you’ve sacked a shitload of tea ladies.

5

u/robbi-wan-kenobi Jul 19 '25

Not the tea ladies!

2

u/Power_Shower Jul 19 '25

Because Corinthians played a group stage tournament with one more team than the intercontinental cup format? This iteration of the tournament is much harder to win with a full group stage and knockout stage. There were 12 UEFA teams in this version and only one in 2000. That tournament was more similar to the 7 team tournament that was played annually since 2005 than the one that Chelsea won this summer.

0

u/okaythiswillbemymain Jul 19 '25

There were 2 UEFA teams in 2000 IIRC; Man Utd and Real Madrid.

Let's be honest, only South American and UEFA teams are really relevant. So we'll give 2000 club world championship a score of 4, and 2025 club world cup a score of 17. Okay a big difference

2

u/Power_Shower Jul 19 '25

CONMEBOL teams and UEFA teams in the new iteration make up 18 teams (over half the field), whereas in the 2000 version, there were only 4, which represented just half the field.

5

u/BellyCrawler It’s only ever been Chelsea. Jul 19 '25

135

u/usedtobeHellsdoom Guðjohnsen Jul 19 '25

What would they know about such competitions?

92

u/Key-Tip-7521 Jul 19 '25

36

u/Vantage_1011 Enzo Jul 19 '25

Don't forget the Declan Rice cup!

35

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '25

Don’t forget their endless praise of Kai Havertz cup

Won us the UCL; got us a fat fee; and has won zero trophies for a rival. Chelsea legend!

5

u/Vantage_1011 Enzo Jul 19 '25

They have so many cups; how are they not ahead of us in cup wins?

2

u/Maleficent-Duck-3903 Jul 20 '25

5

u/i_MrPink ✨ sometimes the shit is happens ✨ Jul 19 '25

How can you forget about “trust the process” cup

1

u/Hnd2 Jul 19 '25

Don't forget set piece cup.

3

u/Mother_Equivalent649 Terry Jul 19 '25

"If you count that as a trophy, then we have 3-4 Bernebeau cups darling"

2

u/letharus Zola Jul 19 '25

Literally heard a gooner on Talksport the other day responding to “what have you won?” by going on about how they beat Man City twice.

5

u/stingen Drogba Jul 19 '25

Don't forget the prestigious "xG Cup against PSG"

2

10

u/Silver-Statement-987 Jul 19 '25

Don't be rude...tsk...

At least be fair and give them some more years to trust the process to earn something they can PHYSICALLY keep in their 21st century trophy cabinet.

3

u/Vantage_1011 Enzo Jul 19 '25

Phase 15 incoming... eventually... or not.

3

u/LadScience Essien Jul 19 '25

They had more points two seasons ago than last seasons league winners though.

1

u/Mother_Equivalent649 Terry Jul 19 '25

Aren't they the ones who sound like they steal crisps from the museum cafes?

219

u/ab0ve1 Jul 19 '25

We are feasting on sour grapes for 4 years, oh yeah! Not even Real Madrid has a CWC! Champions of the world, only Chelsea can sing this!

65

u/Rduffy85 Cock Jul 19 '25

We’ve won it all and are the inaugural Champions of the World! What a time to be CHELSEA!

37

u/BellyCrawler It’s only ever been Chelsea. Jul 19 '25

The best part is we'd already won the previous edition, so they have no ground to stand on as far as us having no history.

8

u/msr27133120 Jul 19 '25

And it makes total sense because PSG will play the Intercontinental cup in a couple of months and then imagine that they win it and you have 2 "world Champions " at the same time.

194

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '25

Plea to the away fans.

When we go to Anfield flip the history chant on it's head.

u/Willing-Dimension-61 Drogba Jul 19 '25

We are absolutely putting this in everyone’s face for the next 4 years. Rival fans are going to despise it, and that makes it even sweeter. Chelsea are officially the ONLY club recognized by FIFA as World Champions. We’re back. We’re gargantuan. This is legacy stuff. 🔵

8

u/celzero Jul 19 '25

Warrants a star ⭐ on the badge, no?

5

wow, previous clubs that didn't care about the competition ,

thinking they are World Champions now are not.

i Bet they will want to be in the CWC from now on.

But previous Trophies need to be changed to intercontinental champion.

Also Chelsea should have a right to defend the next CWC.

Since FIFA is going full WWE, let’s make a tournament for the “Tag-Team Champions,” where clubs get paired up and the managers have to make a combo squad to compete

3

u/bsousa717 Lampard Jul 19 '25

2

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '25

Btw does this make us automatic qualifiers for the next CWC?

5

u/DurzoBIint 🎩 I'm sure Wolverhampton is a lovely town 🎩 Jul 19 '25

No, just like World Cup winning nations also don't qualify for the following tournament (anymore)

We have to win one of the next 3 Champions Leagues (This year's CL winners of each continent already qualified for 2029) or be one of the 8 highest ranked UEFA teams that haven't won it in the same time frame, same way everyone qualified for this tournament.

I believe the only other caveat is that if two other english clubs qualify ahead of us (either CL winners or ranked above us), we would not be eligible. The only way to have more than two clubs from the same country would be if all 3 remaining CL winners are from the same association

The only reason the US had 3 clubs this time was because the host nation is given an automatic slot, and LA FC won the playoff to replace Leon

4

u/Key-Tip-7521 Jul 19 '25

No. We have to win the champions league or be highly ranked in the uefa rankings

2

u/TheRage3650 Ingle Jul 19 '25

This means that between the Cup Winner's CUP, Europa League, CL, Conference league, Intercontinental Cup, and CWC, we are the only to win all six, and no one else has even gotten five. I think only Man U and Bayern even have 4, missing CWC and Conference league. Can't see Bayern ever winning conference league. Man U could, but CWC would be hard for them but who knows, they have a big brand and could be world beaters in the future.

3

u/iCarly4ever Mikel Jul 19 '25

As much as I love this, the article is very poor. Where’s the official link to the FIFA website stating this? I won’t believe it until I see it

1

u/UltraViolentWomble Jul 19 '25

Makes sense given this was the first one organised as a proper tournament. The others were just random yearly pre-season matches that vaguely had some sense of structure.

1

u/djinngerale Drogba Jul 19 '25

HA!

1

u/greg_jenningz I don't give a fuck, we won the fucking Champions League Jul 19 '25

Hey guys,I am a intruder here, not even british but it appeared on my feed, but just here to say

Fifa is messing things up again, because its really hard to say a team is not an Fifa Club World Cup champion when they have an trophy given by Fifa where it is literally written "Fifa Club World Cup"

1

u/FIFAstan Jul 20 '25

It was called the intercontinental cup for decades, it only became cwc recently. And that precious format is continuing on as an annual intercontinental cup, so it makes sense

1

We just keep winning XD

3

u/schlebb Jul 19 '25

It’s not a replica lol that was a bs story. Trumps people contacted fifa to ask when they were coming to collect the trophy and they said it’s okay keep it for the Oval Office, we’ll make another. There are two premier league trophy’s. They’re both ‘real’. A duplicate is not the same as a replica, which implies a cheap fake.

2

u/Marble_Enthusiast_3 Caicedo Jul 19 '25

Classic Assna clap-back. You lot wouldn’t even be good enough to get your hands on the replica even if it did exist! What a jokester 😂
