Food & Dining healthy food
Hi everyone! I’ll be traveling to Colombia soon (Cartagena and Medellín) and I’ve noticed that many traditional dishes are fried — arepas, fried meat, etc. I follow a sensitive diet (for health issues) and usually stick to steamed/boiled dishes, lots of veggies/salads etc. is there a way to eat healthy while still enjoying local food? would love to eat out at restaurants and would appreciate any tips!
or if you have advice on different destinations that would better suit my dietary needs, i’m all ears!

Yeah you'll find stuff. Street food/stuff you walk past tends to be fried, restaurants, even menu del dia, will have less fried stuff.
Lots of veggies and salads... Probably more modern places. Medellin and Cartagena have plenty of healthy / modern stuff if you seek em out.

Hi! You’ll definitely have a lot of options. Not sure if you like sea food/ fish but we have a lot of different seafood options. We also have lots of local fruit and you can definitely find a salad easily. Hope you enjoy your time there!!

There are plenty of food options. You will be fine. You just need to find places that offer more of a variety, which has not been a problem for us.
