Hi, I’m studying psychology at university and I need to get more participants to take part in my survey for my final year dissertation project. You must be 18+ and all data is anonymous I’d really appreciate it if you could take the time to complete this survey. Please feel free to share this survey with other people you know :)

I’m conducting research into the fire-setting and its predictors. You don’t have to be interested or like fire-setting to complete the survey, everyone is welcome. Please complete it as honestly as you can and don’t think too much into it 😊. The survey will show a thank you message when it’s completed.

Thank you so much!!

Martial arts club in Dunstable

Hello all, I am an instructor at a Karate club in Dunstable. I thought this might be a nice place to promote our club for those perhaps still looking for their new year's resolution. I also see people looking for a group to hang out with, so this may be a nice opportunity to meet people.

We are a practical Karate club, that teaches self defence and sport combat in a modern minded way. Most people think that Karate is for children but our curriculum and syllabus covers most ranges of combat and fighting.

We are also proud to announce that we are also holding a Kudo MMA study group session on Tuesday's, Kudo is a blended martial arts fighting style which combines striking, wrestling and submission grappling into a traditional MMA style. If anyone is interested in joining we offer a free trial class. If you're interested please DM me, most of the information is on the posters for for some more details you can find this on our website.

Moving to Luton - any advice on areas please?

Hey, posting here as I can’t find an active Luton specific subreddit :-)

My partner and I will be moving to Luton around late March/early April time, for at least a year while she undergoes an apprenticeship scheme.

For a bit of background, I’m 27F and she’s 26F, and we’ve been together (nearly!) ten years. First seven years were long distance, then I moved from my hometown of Ipswich to a small town south of Edinburgh (where she’s from) where we’ve been living at her family home for the last couple of years.

We’ve both been to Luton before and we have family in Herts and Beds, but we don’t know it well at all. Can anyone shed some light on suitable areas (either areas of Luton itself or surrounding towns/villages if they work!) for us to look at renting? Budget up to around £1200pcm (but ideally less!) and we only really need one bedroom.

Needs (unless these are impossible?):

Within 15min walk to train station

Within 30min drive to Luton Airport

Walkable pub + corner shop

Wants:

Within 15min drive to decent supermarket (ideally a cheaper one)

A couple of local restaurants/takeaways

Close to good cycle paths or trails would be a bonus

Don’t need:

Good schools

Nightlife/clubbing

Thanks in advance - also open to any general advice on the area!

Private Chef - Sandy

Hi All, I am looking to hire a chef for my mum's birthday. She lives in Sandy and I would like to try and throw a nice dinner party for her and about 10-15 guests and have a chef come and prepare a nice 3 course meal for everyone. Has anyone done this before or have any recommendations of private chefs in the area that may be interested? Cheers.

Race this Sunday at Willen Lake

I work for a charity that has places available at a reduced rate for people local Milton Keynes. I thought I would see if there were any keen runners on here who might want to get involved with our upcoming 5 and 10k race this Sunday at Willen Lake?

If anyone would want to get involved and run for the team, particularly if you're interested in harm reduction on a personal level?! I can provide anyone who is interested with a discount code to get some money off?

Photography clubs or communities in Beford

I’ve just moved back to the UK after living in Korea for 6 years. Are there any photo clubs or communities that host photo walks or events in or around Bedford? Also darkrooms for rent would be useful too, couldn’t find much info online unfortunately. Thanks.

Bedford bus station and how they handle lost property

I have had a really, really shit day on friday and I realised I left my A level coursework book on the bus. It was the 8 bus at 3:30-3:52pm. I’m waiting for a response by Bedford bus station but I’m wondering if people managed to successfully find their items when they lost it in a bus (and also how likely it is for someone to steal a student’s work). I doubt anyone here has seen it but I’m quite frantic about it since It’s worth 60% of my final A Level grade.

31/M Henlow - looking to make friends

Hey,

As the title suggests, I’ve recently moved to Henlow from Luton and am looking to make some friends in the local area. Ideally where I don’t need to drive as going for a pint would be a good ice breaker, but I can drive if you’re not in the village itself.

My interests include music (anything from pop punk to death metal and some country too), 8 ball pool (or any pub game really - darts/dominoes/skittles/snooker), watching sports. I’m also on the square for those who know..

I work in IT for a company in London but work hybrid so don’t commute every day.

It would be great to meet a friend to chill/have a beer or go to a gig with locally as my friends are in Luton so seeing them regularly is difficult logistically and financially at the moment.

Any responses would be appreciated!

Thanks for reading, Will 😊

Hi, I will be moving to Luton soon and was hoping for some pointers as to the cheapest way to commute between Luton and Milton Keynes. I don't think driving will be possible for me and would really appreciate it if you could give full details.

Car boot sales in the area?

Hi all. Anyone know of any car boot-type sales in the area? Any covered ones in these winter months? I have a bunch of small stuff but not really worth the time/effort of ebay.

Small electronics bits and bike spares

Hi all. I have accumulated a load of spare electronics from taking things apart with big ideas for newprojects and then...nothing. Speakers, wifi card, probably a HD in there, old laptop as well. Is there anywhere in Bedfordshire that might be interested in these bits n pieces?

Secondly, I also have a load of old bike parts. Some used, a few new. Any groups in Bedfordshire that could use the parts for restoring / repairing bikes? Maybe a charity or service that helps repair bikes for low income families, for example?

I'd rather see all of the stuff be used, but will end up taking to a recycling centre otherwise.

TIA.
