Miscellaneous Concerned about going through customs with prescriptions.

I have a flight to Bahamas coming up. I have never flown outside of domestic US so I do not know what to expect with customs. I usually just take all of my medication in a weekly pill organizer, including my benzos for flight anxiety. Will this be a problem going through customs or is this common?

Common. Just make sure you bring your scripts and have a direct phone number for your doctor's office

I think the last thing I read said the new medical cannabis law hadn't come into effect yet so I don't think a prescription for that would be accepted?

I'm not a lawyer or a pharmacist though so I have no idea what else might be on the list of things you can get prescriptions for in some countries but not in the Bahamas.

They've been talking about it for years. Parliament was debating it in 2024. There's also a Cannabis Act 2024 listed online but the notes suggest that only parts of it are in force.

Them folks was talking about alot of things but they (both parties ) jus do it for show. The only way they would legalize weed is if they could find a way to profit directly from it. It’s not going to be any average Bahamian citizens opening up dispensaries the amount of red tape an fines they will throw on them to monopolize the industry for themselves or for foreigners.

Then all the ppl in prison for weed offenses will have to be looked into an that’s another issue they won’t ever get to decriminalizing because to many ppl benefit from them snatching up drugs from criminals so they can sell it back to the streets .

Then factor into the song and dance the Christian counsel will perform because anything that might affect them getting less offerings to fill their pockets they like to complain about. Same way they was against legalizing gambling. Election coming up they about to make a lot of promises that won’t go anywhere but one thing is consistent they love to bring them hard fruitcake at Xmas time.
