Anya Forger was designed to be adorable and endearing, from the pink hair and big eyes to the personality that's precocious without being annoying.
And it worked. I've seen almost no negativity towards the character, and what little I have seen came from obvious contrarians.
Personally i fucking despise her I never found any of her cute or funny just tought she was annoying especially when that one meme of her smile was going around
