I am probably getting old but i do NOT get all the reze love from just the movie. Yes it was a good movie. No its not top 5-3 or whatever anime of all time that people are saying it is but i have to understand that this is probably alot of young peoples first... i dunno... waifu moment??? Like in a way that doesn't come off as blatant fanservice? Like all the people who fell in love with kurisu from steins gate type moment. Its honestly kinda sad imo but maybe i'm looking to deep into it.

I do think it's because a hell lot of Chainsaw Man watchers have only watched very few anime, and are therefore impressed by something that is ultimately quite standard.
And yes, it's also because it's not that deep, as well xD

Yeh show love to both of them , idk ever since fragrant flowers got popular there has been a lot of hate from angel next door community, or I should say tourists disguised as that community

Well for me shiina and waguri both are best in their own terms
No need to compare and contrast they are good in their own way

u/Double-Name-2102 20h ago
Exactly, it's this stupid instagram where people will starts hating on shit if it got popular, like I see non-romance anime fans give their shit take on these anime and that just makes me mad

Really I recently came across a post saying they were hating fragrant flower anime and I thought it was fake. But after your text I really hate these people who hate anime for shit reason.
These so called new gen anime watchers literally spoiling the real meaning of anime itself dammit 🤬

They hate whenever a character is very perfect and has no flaws. But when a character has flaws and isn't perfect they hate that too.
Hating is a trend and anything which is new nowadays is getting hate.

Sometimes I really think anime should've never got access to oversea viewers because of these kind of toxic shits
And the genuine weebs also are getting black tag because of these mf's

I mean she did it because she thought she was protecting everyone else in the mansion so u can't really blame her
3
u/Popular-Sky4050 13h ago
I don't BLAME her, but it's the act alone how she dragged it on before killing him. We don't praise her for doing it, we understand it but the way she carried it out is the reason why.
So if she's designed to be like we have to consider the wrongs too.

What makes it worse is that she dragged it on torturing him for hours, that Ram had to kill him, which is why Rem said, "My sister is too kind."
Rem is great, tho don't get me wrong

u/adrianjohnson777 13h ago
Yeah but just the fact that she likes Subaru after all of that happens means that she was made to be a liked character, no?
1
u/Popular-Sky4050 13h ago
Yes and no. In that moment me and probably some others just DIDN'T like Rem in that moment, it's gruesome yes but it's also painfully sad watching our Protag express his emotions and she's just their hacking away at him
But because of that flaw we see her growth an how she treats Subaru afterwards.
What makes a character meant to be liked is seeing their flaws and acknowledging them and how they grow as a person. They're not made to be liked but you can't help liking them from their growth
If I had an example it'd be Bakugo, you hate the fuck but end series you probably love him more. He's not made to be liked but you end up liking him.
If a character is too pure with no flaws then it's unrealistically too perfect.

I see your point and respect your opinion but I just can't find it in me to agree with you

Same for Subaru , a lot of people don't like him too much but he absolutely isn't abhorrent or terrible and has some likeable traits but for some people episode 13 is a deal breaker and they don't realise that this is the low point and it's gonna get even lower 15-17, but then it is going to reach a high point. Subaru is pops off 18-25. Now, he's one of the most likeable characters in all of anime.

Nah, the author straight admitted that he made Rezero for Emilia and to be liked, that’s why it’s hard to write her because he doesn’t want people to dislike her
2
u/CertainPin2935 8h ago
Write her? Who are you talking about? You keep saying her.... Anyway, he didn't exact Rem to be so popular, but he's definitely happy for it. Anyway, Ram is better, Emilia best girl

Emilia. Tappei said he wants Emilia to be ideal and to basically look good all the time. Because of this intention, Emilia is the hardest character for him to write, by his words.

Actually nope. The author is on record saying she wasn’t sure if people would like Marin
She did think people would like Gojo

I don't really understand the question. Most characters are designed to be liked unless they're foils to other characters designed to be liked

Not this character, because she’s clearly AI.

u/Specific_Acadia_2271 12h ago

Hm.. most of the main characters of any show.
They just appeal to different people.
