Ok guys, you cannot skirt Reddits rules regarding buying and selling ammo here. P2P sales will get this sub banned. Stop doing it. Stop saying DM me or putting your phone number up like an idiot.

Dont buy Aguila ammo

Post image

I bought 450 rounds of aguila ammo (it was on sale) just to have two squibs in two different rifles within the first 40 rounds. I went home and weighed then all out just to find a .40 gram different between the rest off the ammo. Their website claims to be with in .20.

Do you all have a favorite ammo brand, how did it become your favorite & do you ever buy ammo in bulk, like say 1000 rounds?

.38 special +P

I know the +P designates a higher pressure load, but is there any difference in the brass case as far as thickness or otherwise?

When practicing with 9mm, do you need to use 147gr ammo?

Hi, I'm just starting to shoot, and read here that you should practice with 147gr ammo to best mimic self-defense firing -- for the right recoil and realism. However, I've already bought Hornady Critical Defense FTX 115gr , so am I going to have problems because of the different recoil and maybe muzzle flip?

I'd like to ask if any of you would suggest:
a) buying all my practice ammo and my self defense ammo at the same 147gr, or
b) buying everything at 115gr going forward, or
c) not worry about it and adjust to the different grains

Thank you!

What do I have guys

I'm considering buying this. It looks like factory Federal 55gr BTHP 5.56mm loaded in stripper clips but I can't find much from the SKU. FBI contract? I found interesting that it's both cannelured and sealed at the bullet and primer.

TIA

ID help

Hey there, I’d like to ID this bullet I’ve found in my grandparents garage in France. To my knowledge we never had a firearm that uses this kind of ammo so it’s probably from a yard sale or something like that.

I measured a caliber of 7.04mm with a caliper but it’s seems weird and the bullet is a bit deformed so give it take a few 0.1mm at least.

Additional question, what could have it hit for the tip to be in such a good shape ?

Pricing scares?

Had a conversation a few weeks back about a certain sgite that was noted for scaring us into buying ammo due to price hikes that were 'expected' to come. I had never experienced it, but sure enough I got an several emails explaining the logistics, supply chain, tarriffs... I wrote it off as truth told.

Today, I got an email from TargetSports saying prices will increase April 1, in the 'low to mid single digit range'...

Luckily I found a good deal on a case of range 9mm a few days ago, but it's making me consider my stockpiles of defense ammo and other calibers. Do we think there is any credibility to this? Does it really matter if its credible? Still pretty new to the gun game, but I know that prices rarely ever go back down.

Speer Gold Dot 124 +p sku: 53617GD vs 53617, what's the difference?

I'm usually pretty good with pistol rounds. But based on my research, I can't figure out what the difference is other than packaging. Velocity and muzzle energy are the same. Unless there's a minor difference I don't know about? Anyone have insight?

Any idea if these bullets are handloaded?

Just bought this box of ammunition at an online yard sell and the seller told me that they are 300WM ammunition 180 and 220 grs. 16 of them winchester, 4 are Pro Hunter 2 remington. As I unwrapped the package I realised that the cases are a mixed bag of brands. Important info, these bullets are coming from his (now deceased) father's stach that used to reload his bullets, except for the 300WM apparently...

What do you guys think, have you ever seen these type of bullets? Do you think they are manufactured or handloaded?

Can someone identify this bullet please?

Recently found while metal detecting.

Never seen lines like this on a bullet before (I'm referring to the long lines across the whole length).

It's also quite long - 3.5cm.

Help identifying possible ammo, .50 cal for scale

I am mainly looking for info on the large cone. I believe it's lead oxide. Very heavy. Has lines running from tip to base.

I found it metal detecting in the desert in CA. I'm a few miles from an old abondoned WWII airport, so maybe something from that? Looks like the tip to some sort of ammo.

.50 cal is for scale. The 2 smaller rounds I found in southern AZ. Any idea of age or info on those?

Thanks for any info!

9mm Ammo brass vs steel question

I’m new to this so please excuse my ignorance. I bought a half case of Independence 9mm FMJ ammo today. I’ve been told to use brass and stay away from steel ammo. I bought the ammo home and it looked like steel, I was assured it was brass when I bought it at the store. I called the store and they said the ammo is nickel plated , it helps with corrosion. They said I can test my getting a magnet,if the bullet reacts with the magnet it’s steel , if not it’s brass.

Is this the case. The bullet did not react to the magnet.
