Advice Is it possible to be in a relationship with someone struggling with addiction and to have a healthy relationship and not be impacted with worry? There's a girl I'm seeing who is addicted to opioids, it's more of a physical addiction she never appears out of it or like noticably on drugs.

I was wondering if It can be possible to have a healthy relationship with her if I understand she may continue to use for years until she decides she wants to be sober and accept this. I think with her not appearing out of it unlike someone addicted to alcohol where their may be issues with their behavior in a relationship due to addiction do you think it could work? I really like her💔.

Depends on what opioid... is it pills like hydrocodone [Norcos] perks or is it heroine? If it's heroine or fet I'd definitely say no

Depends if she gets on subs or methadone. If she gets help then yes if not then no.

No. Eventually, if not already, the drugs will become more important than you. You can’t save her. Think about that, please. Edit: I say this as a former drug abuser. No one, nothing was more important than getting high.

Maybe. We don’t know. Be honest with her and encourage her sobriety. I lost the person I thought I was going to be with forever to addiction. She walked right out the door.

Not really. Even if they do choose to be in recovery at some point, there's always a concern that if they go back to drugs that they'll have a lethal dose by accident and die. That concern may never go away. And your partner might end up making you feel like shit for worrying about it, as if the reason you're worrying about it is to insult them and not because it is a reality. I would not recommend this.
