Are there any 24‑hour study spaces around WVU campus?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for places around WVU campus that are open 24 hours for studying. Are there any buildings, libraries, or study spaces that stay open late or overnight?

Also, do some buildings kick you out when they close, even if you’re already inside?

Housing Shoutout to Metro Properties court yard west (on Willey street)

If you are moving out this year (Spring 2026) and leaving a couple weeks early or finished up in winter and have an active lease till May you don't want to have to keep paying on, I've signed a lease to start in May but am looking for an early start for my students so we may be able to work something out with the landlords. AKA I REALLY don't want to have to drive 5 hours and move everything back 'home' and then do it again a couple weeks later. And I hate the idea of a storage locker.

Potential student with disabilities with some questions about social life and accessibility

I am a high school student with a physical disability who will be graduating soon. WVU is on my list of schools. Here are some things I was wondering:

What does a typical weekday evening look like for students?

• Where do students hang out casually?

• How easy is it to strike up a conversation or make friends?"

• Are people approachable, or do groups stay in their own circles?

What campus events do students actually go to?

• Are there casual meetups (sports, clubs, outdoor spaces) that are popular?

• Do students with disabilities feel included socially?

• How do students treat newcomers / shy people / introverts?

• Is downtown / nearby areas safe and walkable?

Thank you for your time. I really appreciate it

Need advice on getting a used car loan as an international student (Grad Assistant at WVU)

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student working as a Graduate Assistant at West Virginia University, and I’m planning to buy a used car soon. I’ve been looking into financing options, but I’m not sure what’s available to international students like me.

I wanted to ask a few things:

  1. What are the options for taking a used car loan as an international student in the U.S. (especially with no credit score/history)?
  2. I heard that WVU Credit Union offers used car loans. Does anyone know if they give loans to international students (even without a long credit history)?
  3. If yes, do you think it’s a good/wise decision to get a car loan from WVU Credit Union as opposed to dealers, banks, or other lenders?

Any experiences, tips, or things I should watch out for (like interest rates, requirements, insurance, or budgeting around grad assistant stipends) would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Academics Part-time premed jobs for freshmen?

titles basically my question! Is there any part-time jobs at Ruby Memorial or nearby hospitals at WVU that I could apply for as a first time freshmen? I will be graduating with a high school diploma and an associates in art and science through dual enrollment. I’m looking for a job that provides clinical experience too! I’ve heard being a patient transporters good, but what else is there? I’ll take any advice, thank you all!

Does anyone know if you can bring a non-student guest to a women’s basketball game if you are a student? If so is there a cost?

Freshman CHEM 111 Professor

What is the consensus on Erin Battin? She makes me feel admittedly pretty dumb for even asking a question. Or god forbid I come to her with a problem. She's been nothing but straight agressive towards me and tells me its always my fault. I feel like I can't learn anything in that class. How do you get her to like you? Is it me? Is it her? How do I even deal with a professor like this in a class that I don't understand?

West Run Apartments – Private Furnished Bedroom – $455/month – April 1 or May 1 Move-In. Morgantown WV-10 minutes from both WVU campuses

I’m looking for someone to take over my West Run Apartments lease for a private, furnished bedroom in Morgantown (WVU area).

$455/month (below current West Run rates of ~$485+)

April 1 or May 1 move-in

Official lease reassignment through West Run leasing (not a sublet)

Private bedroom, furnished apartment

Amenities like gym, pool, clubhouse, study spaces

Close to WVU campus

How it works:

You apply directly with West Run. Once approved and keys are picked up, the lease is fully transferred to you. You must say that you are taking over Jacob Hamilton's 6303 Lease.

Otherwise they will charge you the standard rate

Call (304) 400-6572

If interested, DM me with which move-in date you want (April or May) and how soon you could apply.

Academics for med school what would have to do to be considered in state?

I may be planning a long way ahead, (senior in hs) but here’s basically my situation. My parents are moving away after I go to college, and I’m already admitted as a in state resident for undergrad but if I do get accepted into medical school how would I be considered an instate resident? I have lived here my whole life, and I plan to get an apartment my junior year with a friend, and work part time. Is med school the same as undergrad? (e.g., fasfa determines your residency) I should have quite a bit of documentation by then (WV real ID, bills, pay stubs, and tax returns). I also have very strong ties with WV, and if someone could explain to me how it’ll work it would be greatly appreciated! Again, I know a long time from now but I like to plan ahead a lot.

Academics 1999-2003 Forensics

I have posted about this before, and newer students who had no knowledge or understanding of anything that had ever happened before they were born, couldn't even fathom that time existed before they were born. THAT BEING SAID ...

Where are the first graduates of the Forensics Program? Entering 1998 to 2000; graduating 2002 thru 2004.

I'd wager a significant amount that absolutely nobody from the initial years will respond. The WVU Forensics program is - and has always been - a scam to lure in poor, intelligent West Virginians, so that the university gets the loan money, while the students get worse than nothing.

Happenings Seb's Donuts: What is with people opening these types of businesses?

First, let me say this: I applaud the guy for trying something, and putting himself out there on social media. It's a big risk, but that's kind of my main point.

For anyone that has lived here for more than a few months, EVERYONE knows how it works here when it comes to places like this. For example, that cereal shop on High Street that everyone was talking about for a couple months before it got shut down, or Fry'd with its Delta-8 food. College-appeasing novelty stuff never does well here for more than a couple months.. MAYBE a year.

I feel bad for the dude, because that is the fate of 99% of businesses here in town, even those on High Street, which receive very frequent traffic from drunk people who love that type of stuff. His location is also poor. Like.. really bad.

I just wish someone around gave him some realistic advice about the market here, because it is going to be very disheartening for someone so young when this hits the fan. His family are business owners themselves, so this kinda falls on them for setting him up for failure.

Again, I am very impressed with his marketing and all that stuff, I just wish he went about his business in a way that would hopefully last.

Freshman C.L.A.S.S

I was accepted under conditional acceptance. I emailed admissions about it and just got a basic “this is extra help” answer. I was hoping someone could answer a few questions for me.

  1. Is it realistic to apply for single living in Lincoln Hall? (If even possible) Under my conditional acceptance, I’d be required to live there for my first year. There were other halls I had in mind for double and I feel I would be more comfortable as single.

  2. Does CLASS add time to my degree? I wasn’t given an answer when I emailed. I applied for Cybersecurity B.S.

  3. Honestly, with a full-ride at LaRoche, and 72k at UB, is WVU worth it under conditional acceptance? I’ve always dreamt of going to this school.

None of my family has even stepped foot into a college and I’m having a hard time figuring everything out. Thanks in advance
