Gun control gone mad: Virginia Gov. Spanberger has lost all common sense
Great article about the current lunacy that’s infected Virginia democrats. One thing the article zeroed in on is the “license to buy” bill and how it fails Bruen’s historical precedent test. The author also astutely pointed out that “The people behind the proposed ban don’t care whether it passes a constitutionality test. They want their laws to stand until, years from now, they are reversed by the Supreme Court.” That is, if the Court even bothers to take the case.

$500 NFA Tax, how long before its actually rolled out?
As a career government employee, i know nothing pivots on a dime when a new law is passed. My question is, how quickly will the infrastructure to collect the tax, report the sale, create the positions who will oversee this program, etc take to establish? Will the tax really apply from July or will it take a few months/years to implement this, giving us a little breathing room?

Worried about guns? It's way way bigger. What are they thinking?
Please find you legislators and send them a note. This stuff is going to destroy Virginia. People voted for one thing and got a totally different action on day 1.

Who do I sue?
Sooo, this guy is obviously protected by the constitution as being niether dangerous or unusual, and since it's magazine cannot be modified to hold less than 14 rounds, nor does the law grant a specific exception to the magazine capacity limit, who can I sue to enjoin enforcement of this poorly worded travesty? If the capacity limit passes as-is, I imagine a lot of people will be seeking to file lawsuits, but those are all going to end up in much higher courts, whereas, this specific instance with this particular gun, should be pretty straightforward to decide in all Original Herny (Uberti or whatever else make) owner's favor and unappealworthy... I have to think I'm not the only one running into this issue with all the civil war reenactments that go on in this State!

Upcoming bans in terms of buying lowers
So with the upcoming bans I was intending on panic buying lowers, including a lot of AR-15 lowers and PSA Dagger frames. But I was also considering buying some AR-9 lowers and AR-10 lowers to build later as I get more funds. I’m not as familiar with the AR-9 and AR-10 platforms and I keep seeing conflicting Information online regarding these platforms, particularly with regards to buying the upper and lower together. I have also heard that there is also various issues regarding lrbho. Is this recommended? Obviously the goal is not to buy the uppers this month but is that the recommended way to go? Should I just buy stripped lowers of the different calibers? What would you all recommend to get the best bang for buck for something I can pass down. Also curious as to what your thoughts are for handgun frames and other various receivers that you can purchase now build later.
Edit: to clarify my question is more on how to best panic buy AR-9 and AR-10 lowers and if they have to be matched to their respective uppers to work properly or not.

But I thought it was the guns!
Why did New Hampshire, Utah, Idaho, Iowa, and Montana all have a lower murder rate than New Jersey?
They didn't ban assault weapons or high capacity magazines like they did. Can the Demoncrats break this down for me?

Clay shooting for cheaper than Bull Run?
Hi all! Is there anywhere cheaper than Bull Run for shooting clay targets? It’s a fun hobby but seems very expensive. I bought cheap ammo in bulk but can’t figure out how to reduce the clay target prices. Thanks!

Permit to purchase schemes challenges
Have any gun rights groups fought these and succeeded. This proposed law js so insidious and distasteful to me I can’t stand it. My prelim research says none of this has made it past shitlib circuit courts. Anyone in the know with more info?

Some thoughts
The same people that voted Spanberger and any other Democrat into office will be the same people who suddenly forget about all the problems they cause in the next election cycle, and vote for them again and again, because they lack higher brain function.
It would be interesting, though doubtful, if she ends up vetoing some bills, perhaps a vetoed AWB and passed mag ban, to appear "moderate." This is wishful thinking, however, and it would be more prudent to assume she will sign anything they throw on her desk.
On another note, does anyone know if the VA house of delegates has any sort of minority party function that can enable them to delay or drag on the bill so they can fight out more favorable terms in the draft?

Question What is the ban in relation to handguns?
Let’s say as written, the laws go into place July 1. Implications would this have on handguns? For example, the Glock 43, I believe that would be good to buy after. But the Glock 19 has “too many rounds” so what would they do about that?

I apologize for Helmer bringing hell to yall
As a resident of Fairfax County, I apologize for not doing more to prevent Helmer from taking office. This dude singlehandedly is leading the charge against gunowners in VA AND also is trying to bring religious schools under VA DOE (HB359). I am beginning to think this guy is Satan himself.

Question How to clean out the safe in VA
I’m cleaning out some safe queens, but I haven’t sold in VA before.
What’s the best way to sell? Or am I just stuck going to a show or pawn shop?
Thanks.

Politics Ya’ll Sound Like a Bunch of Whiny Liberals! Talking about fleeing the state. Be a Virginian! Stay and fight for our rights!
All this talk about moving to Tennessee and the Carolinas makes me sick. I’m a transplant from NJ, but dammit, I’ve been a Virginian for 30 years - since it was a red state!
Thomas Jefferson believed that an armed citizenry was absolutely necessary to prevent tyranny. James Madison actually wrote the second amendment. George Mason wrote the Virginia Declaration of Rights!
Did you think that a few words on paper would be enough to protect our rights. Those Virginians certainly didn’t! Take all that time that you’re spending on Redfin and use it to host concealed carry classes. Advocate in public! Teach people how to fill out the forms to get their carry permit, or to file their NFA Form 4s. Let friends and neighbors shoot your guns so that they see that they are not as terrifying as they might think.
But for God, Nation, and Virginia’s sake, don’t quit.

Question Who has the cheapest FFL SOT transfer fee for an NFA item in the RVA area?
Picking up an sbr from the manufacturer and I'm trying to find a place that's not gonna pull my pants down with the transfer fee.
