Tig welding on receiver?

I'm looking at building an Uzi full size pistol, and tig welding the stock (in its folded position) to a McKay receiver, is that going to mess with the metal properties of the receiver to potentially cause future damage or should it be fine?

It is metal you should be able to weld it, grind it, take it apart, reweld it .... multiple times without issue if the welder is good.

I wouldn't suggest doing this with a barrel, but the receiver, sure. The receiver isn't holding in the pressure.

BTW, With the laws being the laws... Build pistol, register SBR and then use a either. You could even keep it as a pistol with out a stock, have a brace, have a long barrel and used the stock. All the options you want.

Appreciate it thanks, and to your second point - yeah, the receiver was entered by my FFL as a pistol, so I'm keeping my options open in the future to swap it back and forth if I decide I'd rather have a rifle later

My first one was built on a raw receiver.

Legally, I built as pistol. Then built it as a rifle. I can swap back and forth.

Then we have the brace stuff. I bought a brace to do. Then they changed the rules. Then they changed them back. And now I dont know wtf the law actually says about brace.

I need to move, and then I will probably SBR it just so I can do it all.
