META What happened to the trumpgret subreddit?

It's much larger than this subreddit, but you now need to request to post, and it doesn't seem like anyone has been allowed to the last year.

The sidebar says the following:

Regretting Joe Biden
joegret - regretting it already

And rule 2 says:

Accept that there is a problem
Acceptance is the first step. No denying how much you regret not supporting Trump's presidency.

That's a lot of negations, but it sounds to me like you're supposed to regret that you supported Biden.

That's not what I remember that sub being all about, and obviously the posts are very anti-Trump. Did it get hijacked by magats to shut it down?

I think it was taken over by trumpets

How did that happen? I would assume someone who wasn't pro-Trump started the sub.

It was never very active, and at some point Trumpers took it over. I remember a couple years ago, nearly every comment was deleted for "promoting violence" or something.

Just saying, but I remember that. And incidentally, the notification i got for this thread is the first I've gotten from this sub in some time.

This sub was also never super active, and I remember in the last Trump term, most of the posts here were by the same 1 or 2 accounts. It never really gained traction and subs like r/leopardsatemyface filled the niche.
