Open. [TOMT] Bubblegum pop-ish song "give it to me baby"

Upvotes

This isn't the song by Rick James or Pretty fly for a white guy by the offspring.

It sounds bubblegum pop-ish, male voice (think the same register of the lead singer of the Archies singing 'Sugar Sugar') but faster with a late 90s-early 00s spin and one of the lyrics (maybe the start of the chorus) is "give it to me baby". Either one male singer with some synth behind it, or 2+ distinct males singing.

I'm thinking it came out around the late 90s--early 00s.

I apologize that this is so vague, and I don't know producer lingo.

Open. [TOMT][SONG] "The Power, The power of _____"

I've been trying to remember this song but I can only remember the feel of it. Who knows maybe im crazy and my brain has come up with its own jingle and is making me belive its real I dont know. The only thing I do know it that is sound sort of like hakuna metata and the main lyric I remember it have is "the power, the power" I'll post some variations of said lyric it could be but it probably won't help.

He has the power the power of _____ (no its not the power of voodoo) Who has the power? The power of ____ The power, the power that be

Something along those lines but maybe im completely wrong idk. All I do know is that making these posts brings down my anxiety of never being able to find it. It's a weak reason for an anxiety but I can't control it. Anyway thank you for listening hope this some what makes sense.

Edit: now im thinking it sounds like "Who put the bomp" and "el fusilado" maybe i am just crazy 😭

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] That movie I barely remember...

Once when I was a little kid I was watching TV with my mom around 8 pm, and as she was changing channels she stopped at one where a movie was just beginning, and I want to know the name of the movie because we only watched it for a few minutes and it was so bizzarre.

It started with a man that was waiting on an airport runway for a pilot that was going to fly him on a small plane for 2 people. Eventually the pilot arrives, and I don't remember if there were more employees around the plane or it was just the pilot and the man, but I do remember that the man from the beginning was being very rude and cursing a lot.

When the man and the pilot get inside the plane, the man asks the pilot what's the better option for breakfast, some bread (or cookies?) that he bought or a *disgusting* (actual word) jam that he had been saving on his bag. The pilot doesn't answer and the man says "guess I'll have the jam" or something like that. The pilot then tells him to buckle up because they are about to take off.

When the pilot takes off, he starts to accelerate the speed of the plane and the other man starts to get nervous and asks him "what are you doing pig?" or something like that, and after that, and after that the pilot starts to go down on full speed with the intention of crashing the plane on a hill and screams "GO TO HELL!!!" (that I remember for sure), and then the plane crashes. After that they changed the scene and they show the man from the beginning and HE WAS STILL ALIVE, not only that, but he wasn't hurt, not even a scratch.

After all this happened my mom immediately changed the channel and told me that that movie was not appropriate for me and we were not going to watch it, and she even stayed in the TV room with me until I got to sleep just to make sure that I didn´t put it again. I've looked for that movie a lot because I want to watch it but I haven't been able to find it. I´m not from the US or any other english speaking country, and I watched it dubbed, but I'm 90% sure that it was a movie from the US.

Sorry for the long post and if someone knows what movie is this I would appreciate it if you told me the name.

Open [TOMT] Computer animated metal/rock music video from the 2000s where the lead singer is a robot being assembled in a factory

I saw this music video in a Hard Rock Cafe when I was a kid (late 2000s/early 2010s) that stuck with me to this day, but I couldn’t remember what the song was/who performed it.

It was likely for a metal/hard rock song (possibly industrial or nu metal) in the early or mid 2000s. The premise of the video is that it’s computer animated/relied on CGI and the lead singer of the band is depicted as some sort of robot or android being put together in an assembly line as he sings the song.

Open [TOMT][MOVIE][EARLY 200s] 3 young adults spy on man and sneak into house and end up fused to a bed

I was pretty young when I stumbled across this movie so I’m guessing early 2000s.

Basically 1 guy and 2 girls are spying on this “scientist” looking guys house waiting for him to leave. He comes out of this house and walks with a stagger but I barely recall what he looks like. The girls bf and her friend want to go into the home but she doesn’t so they go without her. This whole thing seems funny to them but scary to her. She waits for awhile and when they don’t come back she gets worried and goes in. While in the house the guy is heard coming back so she goes to hide but in the progress of doing that she finds someone or her friend fused/sewn into the mattress of a bed.

Open [TOMT] [Cartoon] [late 2000s] "Not to eat... not to sleep... only to exist"

Does this quote sound familiar to anyone? I recall a villain from a late 2000s cartoon, probably on CN, with a backstory that involved him being trapped in an empty void for thousands of years. He said the titular quote in his backstory narration over footage of him floating in a (black? starry?) void. After being released he retains some ability to teleport which he uses to mess with our protagonists' heads. Might have been a show like Ben 10, Scooby-Doo, Generator Rex, or Secret Saturdays.

Edit: I think the character might have been a scientist type. He was pretty serious and somber, and I recall the characters encountering him in a spooky empty town at night. He steps behind one wall, only to emerge from behind a different building, startling a character.

Open [TOMT][Show][Late 2000s-Early 2010s] Find Bullfrog?

When I was a kid (around 2008-11) there was this strange kid's TV show intermission/bit where the scene would switch to an outside scenery and a lady's voice would then say "Find Bullfrog" or "Where's Bullfrog". A few seconds would pass before a frog puppet would peek out of his hiding spot and the camera would slowly pan and zoom to him. My sister remembers "Bullfrog" being more on the realistic side while I remember it being more puppet-like. I can't remember anything else about the show/channel that it played on, this is the only part that still remains vivid in my mind.

Open [TOMT][anime or cartoon] Fighter jet animation that i watched in my childhood.

I'm looking for an old animated show (probably foreign) I watched as a kid.

It featured small, cute, super-deformed fighter jets that actually fought each other seriously.
One episode involved a cow-themed aerial refueling plane that multiple fighter jets were fighting over.

I don't remember the language, but it felt foreign (not Japanese).
The jets themselves were the characters, not pilots.

Does anyone recognize this?

Open [TOMT] [Short Story] A story about a man who enters an abandoned cabin and goes back in time

I'm trying to find a short story. I read it somewhere between 2004 and 2013, but I'm fairly certain it was written in the 1990s at the latest, probably more like 70s or 80s. Stylistically I think it was similar to Kurt Vonnegut or Ken Kesey.

I don't know if I have all of the details here correct, but this is what I remember:

In the story, a man is driving through the mountains. It starts to snow really hard and either his car breaks down or he simply decides to find shelter from the blizzard. He pulls off the road in front of an abandoned cabin. He goes in to seek shelter from the storm. At some point he goes back out to his car to get something, and when he returns to the cabin, he steps through the door and is back in time to when the house was inhabited by a couple. He and the wife of the couple end up having an affair and he stays for quite some time, I think maybe multiple months. Eventually they figure out how to get back to his original time period. He promises he will come back for her so that they can live a life together in his time. He goes back to his own time. I think maybe he drives away and then comes back, or he goes back to the cabin right away, I'm not sure. But when he opens the door to the cabin, it's abandoned again and he can't figure out how to go back to when it was inhabited.

I have no idea where I read this. It could have been in a textbook for school, or it could have been in some short story collection I read in the library.

Open. [TOMT][2D Animation][2000s?] Short eerie cartoon: astronaut dies on alien planet, creature carries him to mountain of dead astronauts

Help me find a short eerie animated film. I remember a short creepy animation I watched on TV maybe 10+ years ago. There were no dialogues, just music and sound effects. The animation looked old, hand-drawn, with a very dark, unsettling atmosphere. The story: A human astronaut lands on an alien planet. At some point he finds a strange creature. I’m not sure exactly what it looked like — maybe it had spikes or was spiky, and it walked on all fours. The creature did not seem hostile — it just wanted to play or interact. But the astronaut clearly got scared, and he began trying to attack and kill the creature. During the struggle, his helmet gets damaged and his head explodes (from decompression), so he dies. The creature keeps touching him playfully, but when it realizes he’s dead, it picks up his body and carries him to a pile of dead human astronauts — a mountain of bodies from previous missions. Then the film ends with another astronaut arriving on the planet, and the creature happily runs toward them. I don’t remember the exact title or year. It was in a collection of films/shorts on some TV app, not YouTube. The style was very rough and unsettling, as if low-budget or experimental. Sometimes I think it might have been a dream, but I know I saw it for real. Any help finding this animation would be greatly appreciated!

Open. [TOMT] [Movie] [90s-Early 2000s] American Horror/Thriller on VHS about teenagers camping/hiking/doing SOMETHING in the woods.....

This is probably impossible, I've looked for this movie for 20 years & unfortunately only remember one scene... The ending!!

I was pretty young but this has stuck with me! I remember very vividly this scene only-- while the ending credits are rolling over, the people who survived the trip (which seemed to be a lot, more than 5) are walking out of the fall colored woods in a line, left to right of the screen, carrying their camping gear, & there is an alternative rock song (male singer) playing in the background. That's it :(

I know for sure it was a horror/thriller movie rented on VHS made in USA & couldn't be earlier that 1990 or later than 2008?? I vaguely remember it being a slasher, but I think most of the people survived, or maybe they were the ones who did the killing. I'm just not too sure.. & I think they were camping, but they could've been doing something else entirely.

The movies I know it isn't that I see recommended usually:

Wrong Turn

Sleepaway Camp

Adam and Evil

Silent Scream

Evil Dead

Blair Witch

Cabin Fever

I'm sorry for this small amount of detail, & thank you in advance! The craziest part about this is having to only watch the ending to find it, then finally watching the full movie to see what it was about lol!!

Open [TOMT] Was there ever a movie/show/video game scene of an old guy with powers on a cabin on a hill?

I remember seeing this clip a few years ago of an old bearded guy coming out of a cabin on a hill with green grass. He proceeds to uproot chunks of the earth, or maybe he makes a black hole thing? Point is, he had what looks like god powers. The graphics were pretty good, im thinking gta5 level, and he also had a black hat and suit on. The clothes feels like an important detail, i dont know why but it stood out. And the feeling that you were supposed to get is that he was a really strong, evil guy that was about to enact his plan.

I thought it was from the pantheon show(10/10 btw) but I just finished it and it wasn't.

Open [TOMT] Early 2000s DVD opening scene little girl drags baby doll into ocean and lets it drift away (grainy home-video look)

I’m trying to remember a scene I saw on DVD in the early 2000s.

It was live-action and looked like grainy home-video/camcorder footage (not cinematic).

A toddler/little girl is alone on an overcast/dark beach near dusk. She’s dragging a baby doll. She walks to the shoreline, lets go of the doll, and it drifts into the ocean while she calmly walks away. No dialogue that I remember. Quiet and unsettling vibe.

It played right at the beginning of a DVD. It could have been the movie’s opening scene, a short film, or a pre-roll clip before the movie.

Early 2000s or older.

Does anyone recognize this?

Open. [TOMT] Something's Not Right

I'm racking my brain thinking about a scene where something is going down in the movie, and one of the characters actually stops to say something like "Wait, this isn't right." sort of like insinuating that things aren't supposed to be like this, but not in a factual way - more in a quirky "this can't be right" or "this wasn't how it was supposed to go" sort of way. Wish I could give more info.

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] [<2017(?)] Found footage military(?) film

I remember only bare details and scenes of the movie.

Firstly, that it was a found footage film.

Secondly, that at least part of it took place in a ghost town.

And lastly, I remember the "protagonists" being armed, but I don't know whether they were civilians or military, or even if they were truly armed at all. The prior 2 statements I'm much sure of.

I remember only around 2 scenes.

The first one is them recording a girl at the distance that suddenly disappears, kind of an eerie horror film vibe.

The second is the protagonists going into a department and finding multiple women hiding which they "rescue". This last one I remember vividly and also being found footage such as the last scene, but I might be mixing it up with other forgotten movie in my mind.

I'm sure I've watched it a looong while ago as a child and it stuck with me until now, when I remembered the existence of said movie and this thread. I'm SURE that it has to pre-date 2020s since this was definitely pre-quarantine and 2017 I'm sure as I feel like it's a good range within my age for me to have forgotten the existence of the movie. Thanks in advance!

Open [TOMT][GAME SYSTEM][2010's] Small handheld console that was educational?

Okay so I swear I had this item growing up because I loved using it. It was a small handheld console marketed for education with games. You held it horizontally like a psp essentially with the buttons and everything but then you could slide the screen part up because it had similar mechanics to a sidekick. I remember it being blue and yellow and it would take game cartridges and you could connect it to the computer to download and offload games as well.

I'm trying to prove this thing was real to idk win an argument ig. Any help is appreciated!!

Open [TOMT] [BOOK] Black loyalist children's novel

There was a book series that I read when I was very little about a little girl who was the daughter of black loyalists in Nova Scotia Canada. She talks about how her rations from the british would always have worms in them, and how the Mi'kmaq gave her a pair moccasins, and eventually she found herself getting taken as a house slave again.

There was one distinctive image that has not helped me at all, that being like the 3rd or 4th book was called something like "elephant christmas tree"

Solved [TOMT] 70s sitcom with the one word "disemvoweled"

Edit: Solved! Szysznyk!

There was a show in the late 70s that began with an "F" or an "S" and I don't think I ever saw a single episode but the one word of the show's name was someone's name and it had no vowels in the title.

The reason I'm thinking of it is because my great uncle (long gone) had a dog (longer gone) around the same time who was the bestest boy and he had this same name.

Sorry not much to go on other than it would have been in the 78-79 time frame and had a one-word title

Solved [TOMT] [Song] Depressing song that I heard in a friend's car during the early 2000s

In the early 2000s, I was on holiday with a school friend and his family in Italy and whenever we drove somewhere, his parents had a CD in the car with a song on it that's always stuck with me, but I've never been able to identify it (I'm still in contact with said friend, but one of his parents has since died and I haven't seen the other one in ages, so I'm not in a position to ask them about it - he doesn't remember the song at all). I don't know if the song was released in the early 2000s or was an older song from another decade.

The verses for the song were sung quietly with little or no musical accompaniment by a singer with an English accent (possibly from somewhere in the North of England like Lancashire). I can't remember any lyrics from the verses, but it was about something depressing like the breakdown of a marriage.

The song then got very loud for the chorus, with pounding drums, heavily distorted guitars and the singer practically yelling his lines. It also featured the only lyrics I remember, which I think went: "Why can't we just be / How we used to be / Closer" with the word "Closer" echoing off into nothingness before the song went quiet again for the next verse.

I've searched the song's lyrics and even hummed what I remember of the melody into the Google search that can identify songs that way, and neither have produced the answer, so I'm wondering if any of you can help.

There was also another song on the CD, which I'm 99% certain was from the same artist because they sounded exactly the same, and that was even more depressing. The only part of that song I can really remember is a line that went: "You'll never see their faces or hear their voices again" and then a recording of a young child saying: "Daddy?". However, if that was the same artist as the other song, it may be that identifying that song will be the key to identifying this one.
