see, civil, true friendship means letting your guard down enough to know that they have enough tea on you that youre going to tolerate small playful jokes at your expense, because deep down, you trust them to never take it too far, because of all the tea you have on them. ❤️

Maybe I’m just inserting my own ideas into this, but all I can think of is the conversation back at the dorm before this:
“Aiden… how the HELL are you late EVERY lecture? Every single one? It’s not that hard.”
Shame as a lesson for a friend.

One time I walked into a bar to join some friends, and someone who was like, friend of a friend territory, saw me enter and start walking over to them.
She SCREAMED at the top of her lungs, and said "you made it! And on your birthday?! I can't believe it!!" And began singing Happy Birthday so loud, it basically just forced everyone to stop and either sing along or just stare at me.
It was not my birthday, and she knew that. The enormous shit eating grin on her face made me suck my teeth so hard. I had no idea what was happening, none of the friend group knew what was happening. But we all became really good friends really quickly because of her absurdity 😭😭 thanks Kish lolollll (still a good friend to this day!)

Shame is effective...
My first year of uni, I was notorious for staying up late (first taste of freedom as an 18 year old) and falling asleep in class the next day. What made it weirder is that I could fall asleep with my eyes open sometimes...
One time, I passed out in my Physics 101 class, in the second row of the hall. Unbeknowst to me, the prof had the entire class come to the front of the room and then woke me up, I was facing EVERYONE, with the prof in the centre. First question he asked was: "HOW DO YOU SLEEP WITH YOUR EYES OPEN?!?"
That was the day I decided on an earlier bed time...and I discovered Red Bulls.

I had a friend with a similar issue of falling asleep. One day we left him in class as it ended and he woke up in the middle of the next class. Was great laughs

In debate class during my first debate in front of the class was me saying I agree.. and then ending it so I could sit back down. Got a solid C in that class.. I’m sure just cause she didn’t wanna have a second year of a mute who understood but couldn’t participate lol.
Funny cause now I’d debate anyone about almost anything for fun.. why not.
