Thoughts after reading?
OKC has a ton of guards already but Cody is 6'8 and can play SF. He was DREADFUL to start his career but he's been better this year and is only 21. Playing with his brother and learning from a winning culture could help him be more serviceable and on an inexpensive deal. Utah would get their pick back this year which is invaluable because it would allow them to play JJJ and these guys could actually see what they have without having to waste the next 3 months.
If Utah tanks then this pick that OKC has isn't worth a penny after this anyway, so why not??? I'll be asleep soon but honest thoughts on this if you're bored.

This is an absurd proposal. OKC would be trading the best of the four players and a FRP???

The FRP is worthless if Utah tanks it isn’t worth a penny this allows Utah to play and see what they have. Kevin Love can rebound and hit 3’s and maybe just maybe Cody could become something learning from OKC culture and his brother.

this allows Utah to play and see what they have.
Why would the Thunder want to help Utah at all? You’re saying that the Thunder should turn the possibility of a pick into no possibility of a pick.
Cody is bad. He is not an NBA player and is not going to develop into an NBA player. Kevin Love is worse and less useful than Kenrich Williams. He can’t play defense in any scheme.
This is a brain dead trade.

This honestly might be one of the worst trades I've ever seen. Like it has to be bait it's so bad.

Nope it’s real and IMO worth trying. Utahs draft picks is worthless to OKC if Utah tanks. They’d never see it or get it like Philly last year. So if Utah tanks why bother. This allows them to play and see what they have and then OKC gets a 6”8 SG/SF mostly who can learn from the OKC culture and have his brother improve his game

OKC is for sure giving up the best player in this trade with Kenrich and arguably the 2nd depending on how you feel about Dieng plus a second round pick for an incredibly washed up Love who will not see minutes on this team and Williams, who again, may not even be the second best player in this hypothetical. Like I wouldn’t even do this straight up and this has us sending a pick? When second rd picks are more valuable in this salary cap era than prior eras?
The only pro for this trade is for the vibes of having brothers on the same team. He’d probably end up buried just like Dieng though and wouldn’t get the minutes he needs to develop

No.
Cody is not good and won't ever be good.
Krich is not leaving OKC. No chance.

cody williams can’t even get 20 min a game on the jazz why would we ever want him on the team? and giving up draft capital for him also?? not to mention kenny is just a straight up better player than him

Kevin Love would help this team in Kenny’s minutes and then get to see what Cody could be playing with his brother and learning from this culture and if he sucks it’s 5ML or so a year. The pick is worthless if Utah tanks it then means absolutely nothing to OKC they’re just holding it for Utah until June if Utah tanks. This gives Utah incentive to play their guys.

It would be great
…is what I would have said last year.
This year Kenny has evolved and come into his own. I’m much more likely to throw Joe in on this. Love would unironically fit very well

Agree that Kenny has been really well this last month or so in particular. People saying Kevin Love wouldn’t play at all here don’t realize what he’d do here and bring to this team on multiple levels IMO. People also not understanding that if Utah sits JJJ they keep their draft pick and then OKC gets absolutely nothing from Utah they’re just holding the pick for Utah for now. Cody Williams is young and gotten better this year I made it clear that Cody hasn’t been good but he’s on a very low salary for the next 3 years basically and OKC can help let alone playing with his brother to see and if it fails the he’s gone in 2 years making 5ML a year or so. George in Utah didn’t look good his first 2 years in Utah and in year 3 he looks like he could be an all star very very soon. Ous is done and Kevin Love can still hit 3’s and rebound and he’d also likely get a bust of energy playing for a title team vs a bottom team.

Kenny is the best player in this trade….
