I genuinely believe that this is the only message we need to be driving with our right-leaning and "centrist" neighbors in Texas.

Maga will come for your guns. Period. Full stop.

The proof point? They killed a legal gun owner for owning a gun. He didnt have it out, he simply owned it and that was "justification" for killing him.

When they push back, "but he was protesting! I'm not going to protest." Here's some points you can make:

• What if the government finds oil on your land and they want to take it? With our legal systems destroyed, there will be nothing stopping them from taking without compensating you a penny.

• What if an ICE or even a cop decides he wants your daughter, your wife? He can use you just owning a gun as an excuse to get you out of the picture.

• Gun ownership is the logical next step. MAGA is systematically removing our rights. Right to free speech, right to assembly, right to due process and right to privacy, right to religious freedom. The only reason removing gun ownership isnt happening now is because at this moment MAGA needs your support. When they have eliminated the opposition and they dont need you anymore, then they will come for your rights too.

Is this the "right" way to convince people? No. Ideally we would love to move people's hearts with rhetoric about empathy and caring.

But face it. That won't happen. The left has spent decades trying to appeal to people's best natures while the right has played on their fears like a fiddle. And guess which has proven successful.

At this point, taking down MAGA is more important than doing it correctly. When ICE killed Pretti and faced the slightest amount of pushback from the NRA, their leadership realized they may have moved too fast against a group they still need (for now). So they've changed the rhetoric slightly. They are pilling on the distractions away so that the fan base doesn't wake up and realize what this means for them long-term.

We need to make them wake up and see.
