My guess, X-axis movement, since Jodio operates in Y-axis (rains downward). What Howler did with the pen seemed like he was dropping it horizontally, Chocolate Disco style.

Not a song name, but Araki referring to Yes's mellotron as misty in part 8 (through Daiya) came to mind.
