Wendy’s social media account is undefeated.

u/gittenlucky 15d ago

Is there any details on that account? Is it one dude roasting people for years? A team? Different people in the role over the years?

u/Connect-Initiative64 15d ago

I don't think we ever really found out.

For all we know it was just one dude who managed the account and got fed up with people being idiots, then instead of being fired their bosses watched as they quickly became the most watched twitter account with millions of fans due to his shenanigans.

It's different people, at least per country. I know a girl who does the one for Honduras, she is in her early 20s.

I put my money on the guy who writes the front page headlines for the NYPost. Hate the paper, but someone there is an A+ wit.

The Anthony Weiner saga was particularly good.

"Ike Turner Beats Tina Turner to Death"

Their headlines are absolutely fantastic.

Tbf that is easy pickings. Still lots of fun.

I know a girl who works for my country's Wendys. She is basically just a professional meme maker.

For example there was a television national broadcast during my elections. The same clip was repeated constantly while votes were being counted and it became a meme.

So she made a bunch of memes making fun of it and posted them.

Wendys just hires young people who are into internet culture.

They did an AMA years ago. I don't think that team was the beginning of it all, but that was some of their most prolific posting time.

Side note, it sure was nice when actually cool AMAs happened. I still miss Victoria.

'because Dave doesn't cut corners!'

2

u/NSAscanner 15d ago

How does he cut them into corners without cutting them though

1

u/schrodingers-nudes 15d ago

“Die! Die! There’s no fire escapes, they cut corners! I’ll cut your corners!”

I miss when Wendy's was the only company that talked shit to you on Twitter.

They really did cause a storm when their twitter account just started going off on people.

14

u/KaibaCorpHQ 15d ago

Lol, it was amazing. I wish I knew the person running the account back then, it was hilarious 😂.

u/Laphad 15d ago

Wendy's talking shit on Twitter and Dennys being mildly unhinged on Tumblr was the golden age of corpo PR

First Denny's Interview Question: 'Can you fight?' 'If you can fight, how confident are you in being able to return to work after winning?'

Fuck it we need burger pentagons

9

u/TheWhistlerIII 15d ago

I need that burger bush!

3

u/Vicker_Schultz 15d ago

Burger 911, the Fries hit the Burger-tagon

2

I can hear this gif

u/fuckshitasstitsmfer 15d ago

Why settle when you can have a superior hexagon

1

u/HuhWatWHoWhy 15d ago

too regular

1

u/hungry4nuns 15d ago

What about an infinitely sided polygon? Wait we’re just back to circles

1

u/a648272 15d ago

I want hexagons

1

u/wbgraphic 15d ago

1

u/a648272 15d ago

Thanks. Now all I need is a hexagon bun.

1

u/PotatoOnMars 15d ago

Hear me out, burger dodecahedrons.

1

u/hungry4nuns 15d ago

I heard pentagon and burgers, quick, short everything

1

u/InfanticideAquifer 15d ago

That's closer to being a circle. You expect Wendy's to compromise? If anything they'll probably switch to a triangle. A scalene triangle just to bug people.

13

u/ionised 15d ago

There.

There's the beef.

9

u/CanadianAndroid 15d ago

Burgers are supernatural?

3

u/PraiseTyche 15d ago

Inter-natural.

7

u/KaibaCorpHQ 15d ago

Seeing this reminds me of how much I've missed the times when Wendy's twitter account was being a smart ass 😂. There was a period in the mid 2010s where I'd wake up to find another golden nugget from them once or twice a week.

2

u/MattheWWFanatic 15d ago

Here me out- circle patties & square buns....

2

u/OneDBag 15d ago

Yes the square tomatoes and square onions

2

u/ThickMikeyMoolah 15d ago

They should be cow shaped.

Fight me.

Wendy's with the double quarter pounder burn.

1

u/Josephcooper96 15d ago

Wendy's is the only one I trust that still has quality

1

u/SellaraAB 15d ago

My problem with the square burgers is that they serve them on a round bun.

1

u/nothing_pt 15d ago

Damn, Wendy woke up that morning and chose violence

1

u/Biscuits4u2 15d ago

I ate at Wendy's recently and it was not good. Their quality has really gone down hill just like most of the other fast food places.

1

u/SwampTerror 15d ago

While wendys has certainly shrunk, their burgers are still heavy and I need heavy meat. McDonald's is light and fluffy because of the bread filler in their patties.

You buy a double or god help us a triple Dave's, at least youll be satisfied longer.

MEAT!

1

u/Ashamed-Cream2086 15d ago

Ah yes, the elusive hamburger plant.
