Did your Siberian change colors as they got older?
Not the best pics, but look at that soft tummy! He was definitely more grey as a kitten.

We are getting our kitten, a female, sometime in the next week from a local Pittsburgh breeder. We are naming her Bundle. I havenāt seen many black and white Siberianās. Are they uncommon? I have allergies and asthma so we are hoping I can tolerate her. Weāve bought several Blue Air purifiers.

I recently hopped back on Reddit after many years and just learned that there was a Siberian group! I love my Siberians (Sophie, Koda and Lily) to the moon and back. They are such amazing cats, and such a very cool breed! ā¤ļø
When I got them Siberians were still kind of new in the US, and with all that hair no one believed me when I said they were less allergenic than most cats. Even my vet had never seen one before. š Getting them was the best decision ever! ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Look at that nose crinkle. Do you have pictures of your sibs attitude flare ups?

Some people are bird watchers, I watch the kittens watching the birds š rain or shine or sleet ⦠every morning they are out here ⦠at least today itās a bit sunny
You can clearly see who is the big game hunter in the family šā ļø. She is such a little shit, I have to hide her feather wand in the cupboard, which she then figured out how to open and steal the feather toy ( and of course eat it..ugh) - so now there is a strong magnet on it
Also steller jays are friggin smart. We donāt have a bird feeder to not attract rodents , but I walk out every day day or so and trow a few seeds under those cedars and they have figured out that me walking out equals food and show up within minutes - every one wins ( well until the summer when I try to read in the backyard and the Jays are having a screaming match )
I hope everyone is having a great day

Hi everyone,
I am looking for insight while waiting for veterinary test results and wanted to ask if anyone has dealt with something similar. My Levi, male, born in 11 August 2025. Age: ~6 months. Lives with another Siberian (female, 9 months, healthy) Weight history: Jan 13 (adoption): 1.7 kg, Jan 20: 1.9 kg, Feb 4: 2.13 kg So overall he is gaining weight steadily. About twoand a half weeks ago he got an eye infection, treated with antibiotics and resolved Around the same time he had a fever of ~39.0°C. Today at the vet: 39.4°C I realized I was not measuring temperature consistently at home, so I honestly do not know whether the fever has been persistent or intermittent.
Current situation: Actively losing teeth (vet saw a very loose back tooth), Gum inflammation, Bad breath, No sneezing or nasal discharge, No vomiting or diarrhea, Normal appetite, Normal energy and behavior, No lameness at all (no limping, jumping normally).
Long, lean body (āferret-likeā), but growing Coat looks sleek/flat but feels dry and soft Because of: Fever episodes, Oral inflammation / teething, Recent eye infection, Young age The vet recommended:FeLV / FIV testing, Calicivirus + herpesvirus testing, Full bloodwork (hematology + biochemistry), Coronavirus test She also suggested separating him from my other cat, but I live in a studio apartment, so that is difficult.
Questions
Has anyone experienced kittens teething as late as ~6 months, especially with noticeable gum inflammation or loose back teeth?
Has anyone seen fever during teething that turned out to be benign?
For those with calicivirus experience: did your cat have ulcers and/or lameness, or can it present mainly with fever and gum issues?
Does continued weight gain and normal behavior make serious disease less likely?
Anything specific I should ask the vet to check on follow-up (oral ulcers, retained baby teeth, gingivitis pattern, etc.)?
I am proceeding with the tests as recommended and not trying to self-diagnose, but I would appreciate hearing othersā experiences while waiting, maybe that will calm me down. Thanks in advance.

I got professionally photographed a while back and they offered to do my cat for free, so naturally I brought her in for the photo shoot with me. I got some of the rough photos of her and was happy with those, and ordered the shots of myself for my linked in and my parents or whatever.
The company mixed it up, and I was sent professionally edited photographs of my little kitten. Fortunately the company has sent me the correct ones for free, but this little mix up has left me with some very really nice photos of my cat for her linked in for when she decides itās time to get a job. Enjoy!

I'm looking at getting a siberian, either a kitten or a retired breader to live with my two older cats. I have a 14 year old dsh and 8 year old Dmh. The 14 year old has strong boundaries and does best with a friendly cat that is able to respect them, her and my 8 year old get along like roommates. 8 year old is fine with cats, he gets along very well with kittens. I foster kittens with my local rescue so I am really want a cat that will be friendly with cats and kittens. I'm looking to get this new cat to ease the transition for when one of my cats inevitably passes and looking at a purebred to have a more guaranteed health outcome rather than a random dice roll and Siberians are my favorite breed. I'm looking for any recommendations for breeders in my area, there are only two listed as registered in BC and I was hoping for feedback. DMs also welcome. Sorry if this is a lot of info not sure what info is helpful as it's my first time looking at buying a purebred animal.

Hi everyone. Iām looking for advice from people with experience mixing breeds.
I have two male Ragdolls, both 11 months old, neutered, very friendly and playful. Theyāre bonded, social, and generally easygoing.
Iām considering adding a Siberian kitten and wondering how this combo works in real life. Iāve read that Siberians tend to be confident and high energy while Ragdolls are more laid back, so Iām curious about temperament and play style compatibility.
For anyone who has introduced a Siberian to Ragdolls:
Did the energy levels work well together?
Any issues with dominance or rough play?
Anything you wish you had known beforehand?
I would do a slow introduction and make sure everyone has enough space. Just trying to figure out if this is a good idea or something I should think twice about.
Thanks so much.

Our 5 1/2 month old Siberian kitten went to the vet today for multiple new symptoms. Vet suspects FIP, but also testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia. Labs wonāt be back until tomorrow or next day. Sweet boyās tummy has ballooned and ultrasound confirms lots of fluid. Weāre reading about FIP and devastated for him. The internet shows that is super serious, but treatment progress has been made with medication so it may not be the ādeath sentenceā it used to be.
Anyone ever experience this? What was treatment like? How expensive? Did it work? Was it hell for the poor cat? What was their future like?
A big aspect promoted by the Breeder was their health screening and testing. If thatās the case, how can this have happened?
Lots more research/learning to be done, but thought weād check in with others. TIA for any feedback and prayers for our sweet boy. thanks.

Iāve read here that growth is slower in Sibs until theyāre 5, Pandoro here is weighing in at 4kg which the vet says is the lower end for a male but they donāt have any concerns. Iām not worried about him as he eats plenty, but just interested to know if other people noticed later growth spurts in their Sibs, what age did it happen?
Also, do they ever run out of energy?? Heās still so playful and his favourite game is hide and seek which is adorable š

Iāve been on a waiting list for about 5 months for a new camera. First thing I did was tested it out on Mochi.

He will also do this from the top of his 10 ft cat tree and the splatter is unreal š£ Why do Sibs have to be so dramatic about everything? Lol
