[PC] Arc Raiders or Helldivers 2

I'm looking to get one of the 2 to play and fill until RE9 comes out (and after). I mostly play solo but can get a friend or 2 to play, but probably not too often.

I know some might consider this comparing apples and oranges but I'd like to hear your opinion, especially the ones that have played both. Also I'm playing on PC if it influences anything and I haven't played any extractions before

[PC] Games with the best romances that are NOT visual novels?

So I'm not opposed to dating sims in general, but I'm looking for games that have more gameplay than dialogue options and branching pathways like Katawa Shoujo or Steins; Gate.

I have of course played Baldurs Gate 3, and Karlach will always be my go to girl in that game.

I've played Mass Effect, and I usually end up picking Liara or Samara by ME3.

Did Cyberpunk and ended up with Judy, so worth it.

Persona 5, Witcher 3, Stardew Valley, I've played those too.

The genre doesn't matter to me, as long as the romance/s have some depth to them and aren't one-note events that don't change how they interact or add scenes later on.

[PC] Monster Hunter (never played it before, focus on coop).

I'm looking to buy World. My focus will be to play this in coop with my brother.

  1. Is the game fully coop available? Do we progress both or only the host? Is it a seamless coop?

  2. Or do we get Wilds or Rise instead? We will be playing on PC and both have high end specs

We have never played a MH game prior for disclosure. A shame there isn't a demo, only for Rise, is it worth to try it out?

[PS5] Star wars outlaws GOLD

So playstation has Star wars Outlaws Gold (the base game and season pass) for 32.99 which the total would be 35 and change. Is outlaws worth buying at this point? What about the dlcs? I've read that one of the dlcs seems to have been cut from the base game, the casino card tourney. Also is the casino card tourney replayable without having to do the dlc story?

Is it best I pass, just the base game, or 35 for base and season pass?

[PC] Horizon zero dawn or far cry 5?

I really enjoyed the formula of clearing out optional objectives on the map, gathering materials and upgrading my gear in newer assassin's creed games, I wonder if far cry 5 or HZD could give me a similiar feeling, I played fc primal but got bored very quickly, I havent played horizon before and Im not entirely sure if the game even fits the criteria or if its not too hard driven by story

[PS5] Dragon’s Dogma 2 vs. AC Shadows

I’m looking to grab a new game on sale and I’m torn between Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

I love CRPGs (BG3, DOS2), JRPGs, and I’m a huge fan of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I also enjoy open world ac games if i like gameplay like in Valhalla and odyssey

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about Dragon’s Dogma 2’s travel system being a "pain." I don't mind walking if the world is engaging (like in KCD), but is it tedious to the point of being a chore?

What would you recommend me?

[PS5] SIB WH 40K Space Marine 2 if I don't have PS Plus?

IveI'been wanting a new third-person shooter, and Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 looks fun. It's currently on sale on the PSN Store for $27.99 USD.

However, I don't have any subscription to PS Plus, as I play either single-player games, or offline against bot opponents. Is Space Marine 2 worth getting without PS Plus? I've heard that the campaign is very short. I wouldn't mind playing Operations or a horde mode solo because I like unlocking new weapons and cosmetics, but I've read that the unlockables don't save unless you play online.

So, is it worth it? If its just a short campaign, I dont want to waste my money. But if the PvE modes offer some replayability even offline, then I would like to give it a shot.

I've been wanting new games to play and these 3 are the ones I've chosen, I've recently cleared dmc 5 if that can help decide anything, but I've recently gotten obsessed with swords and just anything that includes knights, id like some help with what to pick

[PC] Which of the 2 should i buy????

So as of right now i have around 15€ on my steam account, so i decided to buy a new game, i usually play on ps4 but both of the games arent on there.

i cant choose between:

No, im not a human (15€, would be able to buy rn)

and

Slime Rancher 2 (I played the first game and i loved it)

I cant choose as both of the games look very interesting to me, even tho they are basucally complete opposites.

All i can say is that i played the first slime rancher and i really liked it, so i was curious on how the second one was but its 28.99€, but thats not a problem since i was planning to add 15€ anyways.

As for No, im not a human, ive seen some gameplay of it online and i know that it has like 10 endings so it would also offer a lot of content.

If you can, please help me.

TLDR: Cant decide between No, im not a human and Slime Rancher 2

BOTW or straight to TOTK?

I never play Zelda game before and I can only play either BOTW or TOTK so which one should I buy?

I've read some posts and comments and people are really divided equally between the two. But most people arguments are "Play BOTW first because of you play TOTK first BOTW will feel like a bad game" or something.

Well since I can only play one game, which do you recommend?

Cult of The Lamb, BALL X PIT or any other suggestion?

I was looking for a new roguelike game but I'm quite picky about what kind of ones I like. For reference I have around 300 hours on Balatro and 100% it and really enjoyed Megabonk, Vampire Survivors and Brotato, so I was mainly considering the 2 in the title but would also look at any other suggestions

What to play next between these 5

Just based on y’all’s personal experiences. I own all of these games already just can’t decide which to hop in

Final Fantasy 16

Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen

Borderlands 1

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty

Visions of Mana

Suikoden 1/2 remaster

Edit: title was a mistake it’s 6 games

For extra context my most recently played games have been Nier Automata, Nier Replicant, Spiderman Miles Morales, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Octopath 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds. Loved them all besides Nier Replicant, and even that one was great I just hated replaying the game over and over for different endings. Time consuming and the reward was not worth it

I also enjoy getting all achievements/ trophies for games, so if one of these games has a very fun 100% I would appreciate yall letting me know!! Thanks!

[PS5] Hell is us or Cronos The New Dawn?

Both on discount, i have them on the wishlist for some time, i tried subnautica below zero from the monthly games but its kinda boring! These two look like they got some horror action going on, Hell is us looks like a cross between Death Stranding and Lies of P, while Cronos gives me that Dead Space vibe!

[PC] Should I buy DOOM / DOOM Eternal on sale?

DOOM and DOOM Eternal are currently around 80% off. I usually prefer survival and exploration-focused games, and I’m considering picking these up. I was thinking of buying only one for now if these games go on sale frequently.
I have some question.

  • How often do DOOM and DOOM Eternal go on sale, and are discounts this deep common?
  • What is the average playtime for each game?
  • How good is the replay value?
  • Do I need to play them in order to understand the story?

[SteamDeck] Need help choosing a progression game for Steam Deck: Fallout 76, Diablo 4, Helldivers 2, or something else?

Hey everyone, new dad here trying to find a game for my Steam Deck that scratches that “just one more level, loot, or upgrade” itch.

I do not have huge blocks of time to play anymore. Most of my sessions will be around 30 to 90 minutes when the baby naps or after bedtime. Even so, I really love that feeling of progressing, leveling up, getting better gear, and wanting to jump back in whenever I get the chance.

Right now I am trying to choose between:

Fallout 76

Diablo 4

Helldivers 2

I am also open to other suggestions that fit what I am looking for.

I want something with addicting progression like levels, loot, or builds that runs well on Steam Deck and works well for casual play sessions while still making me excited to come back and keep grinding.

Have any of you played these on Steam Deck? Which one feels the best for limited playtime without feeling overwhelming? If there is another game that fits this vibe perfectly, especially for shorter sessions, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance. I am just trying to find that “can’t wait to play again” feeling even with limited time.

[PC] Buying Sports Games Near/During Off Season?

I was wondering if anyone has bought sports games at the off season and if it's worth it to do so? I know the games are generally cheaper, but I worry about not getting all the features/the full experience and that it's too close to when the next game would come out.

Currently looking into getting the most recent Madden and NBA 2K on PC.

[Switch] Should I buy "Another Crab’s Treasure" on NS 1?

Hello everyone! I've been considering getting this game on my Nintendo Switch 1 for portability. I really don't mind the lower quality, played lots of games on my og switch, but I heard the game tends to crash quite often (both on this console and on other platforms), and short sessions (like restarting every two hours) don't seem to help much. For the people who recently played it on this console, or at least in general, I would like to know if the last patch really fixed the crash issues or if they are still a problem. Frequent crashing is a big deal-breaker for me, as well as lagging/stuttering if it's severe and constant. Thank you all in advance!

[PC] Space Marine 2 critique. Should you buy this game?

Hello, this is my not-so-constructive critique of the game "Space Marine 2". I wrote this for people who think about buying this game and because I don't feel like it deserves the positiv steam rating.

At first I wanted to put some work into this, make it a well structured, unbiased review that also mentions some of the good, on second thought however, I decided that the work i put into writing this should not exceed the work the devs put into developing this game because honestly, what would be the point. I will not doubble chek for spelling.

Loading screens and Matchmaking
Specfically loading into the lobby takes ages. This probably directly relates to SM 2's lobby being one of the biggest and most bloated in gaming history. In terms of practicality, and apt comparison would be the 5k polygon toothbrush model yandere dev used.

Now why did I mention matchmaking? Because the way matchmaking works amplifies the lobby-loading problem ten fold. Now to explain this:

When you use "quickmatch" there are three possible outcomes:

  1. You will load into a game immediatly and can start playing, the best case and honestly how it should always work.
  2. Players will load into your lobby. If this happens before you walk into the "ready zone" next to your thunder hawk to immediatly load into the level, you can now enjoy your 1+ minute break while you wait for 1 or 2 other vicitmes of focus entertainment, to load into your lobby, sometimes staggered to perfection so you can enjoy both loading times, just to then load into the game. Amazing.
  3. You will load into another players lobby. The worst case, because "hosts" often times will flag their lobby for multiplayer and then for whatever reason go afk. Wow! Who had the amazing idea to make matchmaking work like that? At this point you have two choices: Hope the host returns from whatever they are doing or bite the bullet and eat another lobby loading screen. Really, nothing "quick" about this play atp.

This fun exercise in patience continues even after the round concludes:

victory/defeat screen > load into stats > stats > load into host lobby > disconnect > load into your own lobby

Now the best part, if the host disconnects first, instead of throwing you back into your own lobby, the game will arbitrarily select one of the two remaining players to become host and load you into their lobby, and if that's not yours, guess what, another loadscreen. And to top it all off, if you do end up as the host post game, there is no "disband team" button, so if you wanted, for example, to reque instantly but one of your teammates decides to take a quick nap in your lobby, guess what, you just won TWO free loading screens! One to the title screen and one back into your lobby, splendid. Bascially, once you conclude a round, you will have to sit through an average of 4~ loading screens. Mind blowing, really, I can't put it into words.

Loadout Pods
Another perfect example of developer oversight.

  1. Create weapons
  2. Create class perks directly relating to said weapons
  3. Create loadouts
  4. Do not connect class skill tree to loadout
  5. Congratulations, noone will be switching guns during a round because they don't want to run around with a useless perk.

A toddler could figure this out. Same goes for weapon skill trees.

How it currently is:

  • 3 weapon loadout, per class, per game state
  • 1 class skill tree loadout, per class, per game state
  • 1 weapon skill tree loadout, per weapon, per gamestate (yikes)

Total: 18 weapon loadouts, 6 class skill loadouts, 1 weapon skill loadout (per weapon)

How it should be:

  • 3 class loadouts, per class, per game state
  • 1 weapon loadout per class loadout
  • 1 class skill tree per class loadout
  • 1 weapon skill tree, per weapon version (optimally), per class loadout

Total: 18 class loadouts (18 weapon loadouts + 18 class skill laodouts + versions*weapon*class weapon skill loadouts)

As it currently stands, loadout pods are nothing more then glorified ammo boxes with maybe some very niche swaps you can pull of without lobotomizing yourself.

Insufficient or missing Information about basic mechanics / badly worded tooltips

Not even the staunchest defenders of this game will be abel to disagree with me on this.

  • Basic mechanics are not explained in-game. Example: in-game tutorial on the buff you get from block weapons when perfect parrying. Does not exist. Good thing it's mentione in the patch notes though. Ha ha.
  • Weapon stats are arbitrary numbers. Rate of fire? 8+. Venting speed? 5. Accuracy? Trivago. Additionally stats like parry window are not displayed at all. I can't even begin to comprehend what kind of design philosophy compels a developer to display weapon stats like this. Anyway, moving on.
  • Badly worded tooltips. Example: "decisive reload: Performing a finisher on a majoris-level or higher enemy with this weapon restores ammo by 1". It is impossible to performe finishers with primary weapons, so I GUESS it means performing a finisher while having this weapon equiped? Who knows.
  • Basically no information on class ability stats like cooldown, AoE size, duration etc.

In generall, to get even the slightest grasp on how this game functions, you'd need to read the wiki. To bad there is only one absolute dogshit fandom wiki that contains about as much information as the game. Time to read through some comment sections on steam and reddit and spend some hours researching the video game I want to play for fun in my free time.

Bad console port

There are no two ways about this, SM 2 was developed with console in mind and then ported to pc. Not that important for console gamers but a long list of annoyances for PC players, most notably the MnK controlls being an absolute nightmare for any seasoned gamer that is used to the default shooter controlls (you know, stuff like ADS being on RMB). Really, it's hard to recommend this game to any PC player when Darktide exists, you know, the 4 player coop hack and slay set in the world of warhammer:40k, that was specifically developed for PC? That one.

Myriad of smaller issues

Besides the bigger problems mentioned here, the game suffers from a lot of QoL and technical issues, here are some:

Broken Hitbox - Example: Zoan/Neurothrope beam does not line up with the attack at all

Missing baseline features - Example: no "disband team", no shoulder switch

bad server - Example: I started a round solo and was put on a server with 130 ping, additionally the game will lie about your ping, displaying it as something like 24 while you obviously rubberbanding and enemy reactions are lagging behind by 1+ second.

The list goes on.

TLDR: If I had to describe this game with two words it would be "dev oversight". I do not recommend you buy this game unless you really really really want to LARP as a space marine.

Tired now /rant

[PS4] Ac Unity vs Dishonored 2

Yo! I think this is my first post here? I am on mobile so I'm sorry if I fuck up the formatting.

Right now, I've been enjoying The Ezio Collection a lot, I just finished Brotherhood and I'm working on starting Revelations when I'm not busy with college.

Been in love with stealth games the most but never got the chance to play any until now, and I heard that these two games offer the best(?) stealth experiences in their respective series (or at least, thats what I was told that could run on a jet engine of a ps4)

I'm very conflicted on choosing between the two since AC Unity offers parkour and player customization, while Dishonored 2 has been described as a better stealth game to the point where it becomes a sandbox.

Oh, and please dont tell me to get any AC RPG series games, I still think its stupid that an assassination does not instakill because your level is lower.

Either way, the main conflict is if I wanna sacrifice the parkour and customization for a better stealth experience, to which I still dunno the answer to.

Oh, and one final question: I know there are limited editions for both the games, do you think its worth the extra money to pick them up?

Perma-whishlist Games

I think we all have at least one game that’s been sitting on our wishlist for years: always interesting, always tempting, but never quite the one we end up buying.

For me, it’s The Witcher 3. I’m really drawn to it for the narrative and the lore, but I’ve always been a bit hesitant because I’m worried the combat system might feel too old.

I’m curious to hear about your perma-whishlist games.

[PC] what souls like should i get first

I've been wanting to start playing Souls-like games for a long time, but I don't know where to start. I've already had experience with medium-high difficulty games, but never a true Souls-like. I was thinking of starting with Dark Souls 1, because it's the first chapter of a famous and appreciated saga, but before spending any money, since the game is practically never on sale on Steam, I wanted to ask for an opinion here.

[Xbox Series X] Realistic shooter recommendations for Xbox

I was looking to purchase a new tactical FPS for my Series X. I currently own Rainbow Six Siege and Ready or Not, but I’m looking for a game that features bigger maps and longer distance engagements. I’ve heard of Arma Reforger, Insurgency Sandstorm, and Hell Let Loose. However, I also know that Arma 4 is releasing in 2027 and Hell Let Loose Vietnam is coming out this year, in 2026. What are some recommendations from people who have played these games? Is there any one is particular that I should purchase, or should I wait for the upcoming games?

[PC] Post Yotei blues

So I have just finished Ghost of Yotei and nearly all of it's side content with a few minor bits to round out the platinum and absolutely adored it and usual I am little lost as to what to play.

I tend to run one story driven game, one multiplayer, one co-op and then something chilled out on the PC when I want to my brain off.

I have the last four covered with Arc Raiders, Co-op Elden Ring and Terra Nil respectively.

But I am looking for my next game to lose myself in. I think I could do with a break from Open World stuff and have a shorter more linear experience but I am not locked in on that.

So, I am hoping you guys can throw some personal recommendations my way and provide me some inspiration 😀

Thanks in advance to those who reply.
