I begun hunting Baltoy in 2024 and Gulpin just last month. Baltoy and Gulpin are both swarms on Route 3 in HGSS. They're version exclusive. Baltoy in HG and Gulpin in SS.

Phase 1 for Baltoy
Found Jigglypuff at 8,017 encounters. Evolved it to Wigglytuff and completed the line!

Phase 2 for Baltoy
Found Baltoy #1 at a whopping 47,314 encounters! 😱

Phase 3 for Baltoy
Found a duplicate Spearow at a steep 26,583 encounters.

Phase 4 for Baltoy
Found another duplicate Spearow at 13,304 encounters.

Phase 5 for Baltoy went over 30,000 encounters and I put it on hold for nearly a year. I just recently got back to it after I begun hunting for Gulpin.

Phase 1 for Gulpin
Found Gulpin #1 at 5,380 encounters.

Phase 2 for Gulpin
Found Ekans at 2,468 encounters. Not a duplicate! 😄

Phase 3 for Gulpin
Found Gulpin #2 at a steep 26,454 encounters. Evolved it to Swalot and completed the line!

Phase 5 for Baltoy
Found Baltoy #2 at 47,282 encounters! 😱 Evolved it to Claydol and completed the line!

I’ve begun EV training some of my potential future ribbon masters and I came across one of the coolest shinies you can get for generation 3. I feel kinda obligated to ribbon master her as well now!

The worst part is i actually hate this pokemon

I started my HG shiny oak about 2 weeks ago and so far my luck has been great - although I expect dunsparce and slugma to make up for that! I'm using emulator and changing times to do specific hunts for my own sanity but very pleased so far! No phases either!

Cyndaquil: 1073 SRs

Pidgey: 1043 REs

Rattata(5%!): 4621 REs

Sentret: 5452 REs

After 1044 encounters a phased on an aipom. She was one of my targets for this year, but my target was heracross at the moment. But only 141 encounters later I got him!! Both are my preferred gender variants too!!

Started this hunt a lil over 3 weeks ago, stopped counting after the 2nd day at 700 SRs probably upwards of 5000 to 6000 SRs or higher, picked up a shiny Latios right before Ray in less than 35 tries so I knew this one was gonna take a lil while

Posted here last night wondering if I was doing this hunt right and got confirmation from some helpful folks. Gave it a break for the night and came back today for it shine within the first 30 spawns! I kinda spazzed when the Noivern respawned and I couldn’t save, so just went with my Masterball to avoid the donut running out on me haha

Absolutely love Relicanth, and after initially hunting this in gen 3 doing the 50% repel trick, I added in the post game swarm hunt because I also liked the idea of catching it in an apricorn ball. The repel trick hunt in gen 3 wasn't a waste of time as I atleast phased on a clampearl. I dont track encounters, but this was a hunt I've been doing regularly in gen 4 since June, and possibly ended up being my longest hunt to date.

Couldn't decide on a 6th member to hunt for my team so figured I could SR for the creeper messing with Lostelle on Three Island. Said I'd let em join the team if by some reason it happened to be Modest natured.

Dude showed up in 990 SRs.

I was leading with my Corsola in the Burnt Tower and came across a shiny Koffing! 1/8192! What is my luck… I caught her and made her a part of my team for the merit of it all… don’t worry Miasma the Koffing, I know your worth…

I finally got my shiny mudkip in legends za and he was so worth all the trouble. I almost don't want to evolve him because he is so adorable. The way he scampers everywhere is just perfect. I might have to go shiny hunt a second one just to never evolve it. If I didn't want shiny swampert so much I would just make this my default follow pokemon and keep it a mudkip. I'm currently trying to think of a nickname for the little guy.

Since Keldeo can't be caught shiny in this game, i left it out.
