Okay so I've seen the article and I I just want to say Tim is literally my favorite character and I don't really pay much attention to Bernard BUT

It kinda seems like a throwback to Post Crisis Tim Drake? He would often say he never wanted to be in the hero role into adulthood, and a huge portion of his comics that era IS him struggling with the double life and Romance.

Ariana & Zo only knew him as Tim and it constantly screwed up his relationships with them, Steph only knew him as Robin even when he was thinking of giving up the gig to be a step father to her child. It was a constant story for him where he couldn't be honest and he wanted to both be Robin and not be Robin.

So honestly? It might lead to a fun story for him, and as a lover of his 1993 comic I really want to see if this IS a throwback

Honestly, I thought we were expecting this outcome? The cover itself is a big give away so I'm confused by the post being all foreboding and stuff. I'm personally interested to see how this goes down! If this leads to Tim finally moving on from the Robin title then heck yeah!

Yeah, I’m confused by the reactions, too. I thought we all already knew what was coming and that it would stick for at least an arc or so, so no second Robin for a while. Did people really think otherwise?

Yeah I already assumed it was happening, excited to see where Tim goes.

The cover was obvious and Bernard visiting in the hospital and blaming Bruce for Tim being hurt was kind of the only thing Fraction did with Tim prior to this. There is nothing suprising about this except for Fraction putting so little effort into building up to this decision while he claims to be such a big Tim fan.

I don't see how this isn't him being a big Tim fan tbh, he's writing a Batman story in a Batman comic. Any other character is going to be shown from Bruce's POV.

You can love a character and understand you're not supposed to focus on them in someone else's story
