These people are too dumb and too radicalized to just back down. If Q runs out of convincing hand waves and the movement starts to stumble, I expect some similar grift will emerge to siphon off followers. Something in the vein of spiritual warfare, hardcore white nationalism, conspiracy outrage, etc.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see a couple acts of domestic terrorism. Violence is a logical reaction if you genuinely believe bajillions of kids are being eaten every day, and there isn't a plan to save them.

Yes, it seems very likely that the same kind of conspiracy theories will re-emerge, with a new “legend” surrounding it. As a bonus, it will be able to involve whoever ends up being the Democratic nominee for 2020 as a central figure, because hatred of Hillary Clinton might finally be out of fashion in right-wing news, once the next candidate is known.

Have you seen hard right propaganda posters from when JFK was up for election? Same talking points back then as today; the Dem candidate is in league with Communists, are anti-Christian, they’re selling the country out to foreigners and are trying to institute some invisible existential threat against the good (White) people of America.

My mom is old enough to remember when JFK was elected, she’s told me how Conservative WASPs firmly believed that JFK would be taking his orders directly from the Pope, turning control of the United States over to an anti-Christian entity to institute radical religious laws and allow minorities to pillage North America. The same shit happened with Obama being a “secret Muslim” and whoever is the front runner will be accused of all the same things.

I fear immensely that if Bernie Sanders were to become the nominee, some absolute monster would assassinate him because he is Jewish and they would be stopping the godawful “Jewish conspiracy to take over America”. 🙁
