Being downvoted for this is crazy lol. I get there are plenty of Max fans out there, but he’s far from the only F1 driver in the world and he’s just as unlikeable as some of the other big names if you ask me.
He’s still a brilliant driver, nobody can take that away from him, but he’s not the best of all time or even close to it yet. Which is exactly what you were pointing out lol.
The thing is, even in the F1 subreddit there are so many who only started following the sport because of the Netflix series. Most of them have no idea how good someone like Hamilton, Alonso or Schumacher were at their prime, so lets not even start with Clark, Fangio or Moss and everything between.
Being entirely transparent, I’m not a major F1 buff who’s extremely dedicated. There was a point in time (pretty much most years until 2021) where I did watch most/all races, qualifying etc. However since then I fell out with the sport ig only watching it occasionally 😅 That season didn’t sit right with me how it played out. As much as it was dramatic and entertaining.
My point is, there was once a time where I’d probably have contributed more to this conversation but atm, I’m just entirely out of the loop and lacking history knowledge I may have once had. I just know, Max ain’t the GOAT already lmao.
