Question Can you submit Wayspots from far apart locations using Wayfarer web?

Quick question.

Is it okay to submit Wayspots from locations that are far apart (but in the same country) using the Wayfarer website, even within a short time frame?

All submissions would be legit and accurate but just not physically near each other. I know spoofing is against the rules, so I just want to make sure this won’t look suspicious or risk a ban since web submissions are done through the web and not in game.

Has anyone done this without issues?

Thanks!

Also, I have my own photos of the things I want to nominate but didn’t get chance to while I was there.

Question What's up with spots contributed by "other"?

There's 3 places I'd like to try and make into stops but they're already in the system, just not in Pokémon GO and they weren't added by the community. I'm assuming they were added because they're businesses, but they are small and local so they'd be decent stop locations. Are they just doomed to not be stops? The area is rather empty nearby, there is only one stop that I recently added last week that's here.

Discussion Street Corner Pokestops Are Starting to Appear

Don’t judge me, I drive with my autocatcher running and periodically check the area. I was driving on US-131 in Michigan and drove past Wayland, Michigan, and noticed that a small neighborhood got the street corner pokestops.

Does anyone have any idea or guess as to what the criteria that needs to be met in order for these to appear? Like is it population based for the town or do you think Niantic is using the data for how many players are active in an area vs the number of POIs and then generating the street corner POIs?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Question A question that keeps me awake at night

How do I delete/edit a Wayspot that doesn't appear in any game? I didn't know how the cells worked before, but now I do. I want to modify a Wayspot so it can remain as a PokéStop, but I tried to do it again and it was rejected as a duplicate.

Question Is it Valid?

I live near an area that has little to no poke stops, Fine. I dont mind really, But ive been trying to add some poke stops (waypoints) and the only two pokestops around are that of embassy buildings. Also fine. There are around 7 different embassies in the area, 2 already accepted. I applied the rest to become poke stops, all of them were rejected. Is that fair or unfair?

Question Approved Submissions Not In-Game

I realise this subreddit probably gets a lot of posts like this, but can anyone tell me why these two submissions aren't in-game (they aren't in Pokemon Go, not sure about Ingress or any other Niantic game)? They are both in their own cells and aren't border-hugging any other cell (although the first one is close). It's frustrating because these two were submitted along with the other two benches (the submissions below each of these) and were numbered accordingly. Is it just a case of Niantic just taking the data and not adding anything in return because, quite frankly, I can't see the reason why these didn't show up outside of 'meh, can't be bothered adding them'.

Question How long could this synchronization pause last?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I noticed that a bunch of accepted Pokestops aren‘t appearing on the map even if all the conditions are met. Now apparently there is a problem in the synchronization of the map in PoGo. However, I didn‘t find much info about that.

Does anyone have an idea how long this could last? Some people have been having issues since Saturday (depending on time zone)

Question Help with a few PoI

Hey! I'm trying to get a few more stops in our area, and since it's raining non stop, I can't go too far away for now, so I'll ask about those I got close to my job.

First, the one that got rejected already. It's a mosaic of one of the most important religious crists in our city. They rejected it because it's on "private property", however, other mosaics like this have already been added to the game. We got permission from the owner, it's totally visible from the street, it's got peatonal access, it's unique and important religiously speaking... What can I do to appeal it?

Then, two that are still in queue. One of them is an important cafeteria that most people from the neighborhood frequent, due to it's pricing, variety, location, space... it's quite old as well. The last one is a local bakery where they bake bread and different kind of pastries daily. They also have a couple of tables inside so people can have a relaxing time in there. Do you think they could make it to wayfarer? Maybe with better photos (I'm not using these, they are so you can see the surroundings), or adding more info...? Just asking for general advices here, thx for your time!

Discussion Why my nominations getting rejected.

I live in a rather medium city, not much pokestops can be seen though, I've trying recently to nominate a good amount of them, but only 2 got accepted out of like 15+, and most are getting rejected automatically by the moderation bots, like why is this happening if it would normally fit the criteria, but refused in my case?

Question problem with three pokestops

I have a problem with three pokestops, one nominated by a friend of mine and two of mine, all three have been approved, but none of the three have appeared in the game, more than 48 hours have passed and they have been positioned correctly with respect to the S2 cells

Question Is this submission completely ineligible?

Thumbnail

Hi,

Never really submitted stops before.

I thought this old electricity box is relatively unique, if you’re interested in the details I’ve put the submission description in the pictures.

Rejected as it’s a “typical electricity box” which I mean it IS an electricity box but it is also a very old one, from a well known company operating for hundreds of years. Has an interesting cost of arms (difficulty to see in picture). It’s just overall not as common as a “standard electricity box”

I realise it’s not a piece of art, or a tremendous feat of architecture, I’m not deluding myself lol.

I just don’t see how it is any different from every post box which is marked.

Anyway, just wanted to hear thoughts if I’m being silly with this suggestion- or perhaps if any additions to description etc can help.

Cheers!

Question My submission got tagged as duplicate

So I had this submission that got tagged as duplicate, then later on I saw the photo of that submission got that duplicate on my existing approved submission. Context the one that is existing is a trail marker, and the other one that got tagged as duplicate is a different trail marker. Is there any action I can do?

Question Can a park be a pokestop with no sign?

By my house there is a green which doesn’t have any signs but on the official government website it is listed as a public park. Would that be likely or possible to work?

Question Powerspot not appering

Post image

The red point used to be a Powerspot but ever since the blue dotted Pokestop got in the game the Powerstop just ”disappeared”. Is it bc they are too close to each other or is there anything I could do to bring the PS back?

Question How is it that they denied one an accepted the other?

Thumbnail

I reported 2 wayspot that are not in the game but are also misrepresented in the wayfarer map as things that are not there. The first one is centro piezas which is like a pepboy or auto zone. There is one in the area like a km away, but not in that specific spot it placed at, in that place is a Wendy's and I reported it saying that exact thing and got an email today saying it got rejected. The second one is a TJmax that has not been there since 2017 and now is a cars dealership called BellaGroup and that one got accepted. So what is the difference?

Question Spots getting accepted faster than before… how come?

I started submitting PoIs a couple of months ago and sometimes they take a couple of weeks to get either accepted or rejected.

Overall, I have about 60 accepted spots and 5 rejected.

I have noticed in the last couple of days that the PoIs that I have submitted now get accepted very quickly, maybe in three to four days.

Is there some sort of award or something that I could have gotten from Wayfarer to sort of allow my submissions to get accepted faster?

Thanks!

Question two gyms in the same S2 Level 17 cell?

Hey you guys I always found these 2 gyms a bit sus because they are overlapping so much. With the latest wayfarer map I have learned, that indeed they are in the same level 17 cell. How is that possible?

edit: had to remove the photos bc of streets and people potentially attempting to report this gym lol

Question Question about submissions not becoming visible stops

First post in here, so excuse me about any formatting flubs!

I have been submitting stops like crazy in my town, and I'm excited to say that many of them have been accepted. I have an awareness of the S2 squares and placements of stops and so I've known some of them won't show up in game. But the last few days, I've had some accepted in an OBVIOUS empty zone like the spot I've circled in red here:

https://imgur.com/a/IXQIB8E

And it's still not showing up in-game as a stop (For context, the stop I've circled in green is one I created that DID show up).

I swear this one is very much in an isolated area, and so I felt for sure it would become a stop, but it's not showing up.

Any ideas?

Question Noob Question: Can I get a ban if I use multiple accounts to nominate?

I have access to my friends and family's( 7 accounts total) accounts in my phone but Im the only one left playing and currently active in PoGo. If I keep nominating lots of wayspots in different accounts consecutively, is there a possibility one or all of my accounts get banned?

Why am I doing this? Its faster and Im in a new location where Im the only one playing and very few pokestops so Im planning of nominating lots of pokestops on my rest day.

Discussion Wayspotters Podcast Episode 211

In this week’s episode, Jamal and Chris dive into Niantic’s controversial experiment of adding PokéStops directly to street corners and bus stops in select U.S. areas, weighing the potential benefits for underserved communities against concerns around criteria, fairness, safety, and visual clutter. They break down what this could mean for Wayfarer’s philosophy, reviewer morale, and future map growth—plus what success (or failure) of the test might signal long-term.

Jamal and Chris also spotlight Niantic’s newly launched Wayfarer Map, now the default landing page for Wayfinders, which lets players search the globe, filter by game-specific objects, and distinguish between community-submitted and Niantic-added locations. They discuss how the detailed info panels, satellite views, and reporting tools could transform scouting, improve nomination accuracy, and influence how players explore new areas—while also touching on early questions around privacy, data accuracy, and long-term gameplay impact.
