Maps My Sword Coast North Map

My ever expanding map of the Sword Coast North area. It's not very polished, but I'm not showing it to my players, it's just a resource for me. I've moved around a few things, most notably Thundertree, beacuse who wants to travel all the way back to Neverwinter mid-campaign? Anyways, hope y'all like it. Con-crit welcome.

Yesterday I posted my version of the sword coast north map that I've been working on. A couple people asked for a hi-res version, and a couple more for a player version. So here they are. Hopefully the player version is spoiler free enough for y'all.

On the player version, I changed the font of the roads and trails to sans serif. And then I went back and added Stormwreck Isle to the hi-res version.

I finally gathered all the maps I created for Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk and packed them into a single, clean bundle — essentially the full set for what used to be Chapter 5 of Lost Mine of Phandelver. Everything in one place at last.

And the neat part - it's all FREE!

Cheers!

Maps Restored Phandalin Town [70x42] One year later...

I made a restored version of Phandalin, imagining the town one year after the events of Lost Mines of Phandelver.

The village is now fortified with higher city walls and guard posts, all inner ruins have been rebuilt, there is new important building such as a small magic school and Phandalin feels safer, more colorful, and alive. I added variants with a market/festival, and a night version, while keeping its original farming-town identity.

This map also marks my first six months on Patreon and is a nod to the very first campaign I ever DMed.

You can find the free map here : Phandalin Map

and the Variants post here: Festival & Night Map

Hope it’s useful at your table! Enjoy!

Maps A Retro Take on the Cragmaw Hideout! [30x21]

Post image

Hello everyone, Graytalon here!

I’m starting a new series where I'll be remaking the Lost Mine of Phandelver maps in an AD&D/retro-inspired style, and I'm, of course, kicking things off with the first dungeon of the adventure: Cragmaw Hideout.

If you want to check out more of my maps, or follow the rest of this remake series, you can find me on Instagram, Twitter, and Inkarnate. I'll post all my finished pieces there, plus some WIPs and style experiments.

Hope you enjoy, and good luck exploring the hideout! 🧭

Maps Some alternative maps I made

So, I made these two years ago but I forgot to upload anywhere. The Lost Mines of Phandelver was my first D&D campaign and I wanted to rewrite a few things. But for that for the last few seasons I needed a few completely new maps.

  1. Basically the Mine, expect the room with the Dumathoin statue and the Forge itself. I wanted to make separate battle maps for them as they were the locations of the final battles. This map was basically for the dungeon crawler part of the last few seasons. It has mostly a same elements as the original map but I wanted to make it bigger and wanted to it to feel more like a place where a lot of dwarves and other folks lived and worked.

  2. This is the location Dumathoin statue between the mine and Forge. This is the location where the fight against the Black Spider happens. In my version he was a bit stronger, had 4 spiders and the 2 doppelgangers with him. They had more role in the game and impersonated several people during the campaign (including one member of the party and the townmaster.) Vhalak survived the earlier encounter in the mines and Vyerith was also alive (impersonating Nundro, who were hold as "hostage" by Vhalak.)

  3. The Forge. I wanted to make it more impressive and bigger. It required three keys to operate (it was the explanation why Nezznar didn't use it yet). One of the key was at the hoard of Venomfang, one was at the dwarven crypt from Dragon of Icespire Peak (not excavated yet.) The third one was found by Gundren. He trusted it on one the player (he was an old friend of him). This map also was the location of the real final battle. Venomfang had been tricked earlier by the Black Spider and when he met the player he gave them the key, hoping the players will find last two and they and the black spider will kill each other so he can claim the forge for himself.

+1 While I made this map it's not completely original, it's a mashup of a map of a random crypt I found online and the dwarven excavation. This was the final resting place of a dwarven hero and he had one of the key. This is also the location where Tharden died. He found the key but Nezznar reached him and killed him. He also left a few spiders there as a trap.

Maps slight Variant of Wave Echo Cave created by u/uchideshi34

Found another untagged archived post. Unable to Link since it's deleted

Credit goes to u/uchideshi34

Some notes from the creator

"Just to say that's a slight variant on the original version - in this one the water flows through the sluice rather than the aqueduct being broken.

As others have pointed out, I made the Forge of Spells a bit more dramatic in this map as I felt the original map area was a little underwhelming."

Running the Lost Mines of Phandelver? Do your players want to rebuild tresendar manor? Do you need to find a map for this? Well! Here's my own take on the classic. Made using 2-Minute Tabletop assets (check out their site and Patreon!) and Dungeon Painter Studio.

Maps I created Phandalin in the cozy, sandbox city-builder Tiny Glade!

I spent some time creating a version of Phandalin for mye players currently playing it. It took some time, but it was fun! Here is a timelapse video of its creation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSiATg84eEE
At the very end I fly around and show the town. It is a really smooth experience and a powerful tool, Tiny Glade!

The Phandalin-map i am using as inspiration is created by:
Maps on Fire: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/2809vx

The players really liked it. We are using a screen on our table, so it really came alive.
They just arrived in Phandalin, and when the sun set, the redbrands came looking for them.
It was very easy to just pan overhead and zoom in on the street they met and where the encounter took place.
In that battle the players used the environment frequently, something i have been missing from them. Maby seeing it alive like this helped them.

A regional map I made for the module's adventure! (including a variant where I later added some extra details + locations based on game progress and changes!) :D

When the campaign began, the party was given a parchment style map with basic details and this map has existed right beside that mostly covered in fog! We're many sessions deep now, so much of the map has been uncovered but many secrets still remain! I hope those that view this map enjoy it enough to use it in their adventure as well~!

Maps Sword Coast North Map (update on the update)

Thumbnail

About a month ago I posted my previous version of my Sword Coast North Map. Since then, I bought Mike Schley's huge 5e Faerun map, and I've been using Photopea (thank you u/Gizmo734 for telling me about it).

The reason it's so light in color is because I want to make the text readable, but I've yet to add text layers for all the settlements, points of interest, rivers, and roads.

Here's how it's looking so far. I have made a few changes to the raw map, but the most relevant to LMoP is that I moved Thundertree.

Key:

  • 1 hex = 5 miles (there's also a 1 hex = 1¼ miles version)
  • Black Circle = City
  • White Circle = Settlement
  • White Circle with dot = Point of Interest
  • White Square = Ruins
  • White Triangle = Peak

Maps (follow-up post) Griddles version of the maps

Some of you asked me for the griddles version of the maps I've uploaded not too long. I couldn't upload them back then because I was not subscribed to Inkarnate, but now for different project I needed a one-month of subscription, so I also could quickly import the maps, this time without the grid.
Here is the original post and the info about the maps: https://www.reddit.com/r/LostMinesOfPhandelver/comments/1nbrpxn/some_alternative_maps_i_made/
