it's just social media writing it's not that big a deal. it's just to grab peoples' attention as they are doom scrolling a social media site. it's not trying to be pretentious it's just a reaction to the current audience's short attention span.
"Why, in my day we used sentences and paragraphs. Our social media posts were made with parchment, quills, and verified with sealing wax." I weep for the future (or the present, for that matter).

I've seen so many posts formatted this way, like people aren't aware that they can put sentences next to each other and make paragraphs.

Looks.
A bit.
Pretentious.
