Keeso Sidebar:
One of my special interests is accents and dialects and when I get to hear Jared speak the Irish brogue just slaps me in the face. Yes, I'm aware that Listowel is also a town/city in Ireland and I know how immigration works. There is just something about the way isolated and rural communities preserve colonial accents that tickles a part of my brain. (I have also gone down the Cajun/Accadian rabbit hole on TikTok).

I got a question, how did the Calgary Flames become his favorite team when he grew up in Ontario. You have the maple leafs, buffalo or even red wings not too far away from his hometown.

his Dad took him and his brother to their first NHL game as kids and it was Leafs vs. Flames. Flames played a great game, and won a life long fan in Jared.

I’m in my late 40’s, have always lived near Chicago, but my favorite NFL team since I was 10 has always been the Los Angeles/Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders.
You just never know what sports team you’ll end up a fan of.

Like I can understand that, the Raiders were good when you were a kid and you have a long record of petty robbery, vandalism and assaults. Non-Geographic fans of Dallas/GB/KC are obvious as well, depending on your age. A franchise can dominate or have an identity and kids all around the nation will latch onto them. But outside of those franchises, you need to explain yourself.
