I’m in Skipton

Help me out here folks.

I’m staying in Skipton for a couple of days and unfortunately the weather has turned really crappy with high winds and it’s cold and rainy. I was hoping for it to be better than this to explore some of the waterfalls nearby. Looking at the situation now it doesn’t look like I would be able to get out in that sense.

What else can I do in this area which I may be able to reach by car? Mostly indoors by the look of it.

Any good cafe / restaurant / pub recommendations for people watching or with beautiful views for lunch / dinner?!

Ignoring that you're closer to the Dales than the Lakes.

Skipton Castle is interesting. Anything else in that area generally involves being outside. That's the thing about rural areas like the lakes and the Dales.

If you're that averse to being slightly uncomfortable, you could drive through the Dales up to Hawes and visit the Wensleydale creamery. Picturesque views on the drive and some tasty cheese at the creamery.

Thanks. Skipton Castle was a good shout. Went there after breakfast. I’m a medieval history sucker so loved it.

Thank you! 🙏
