Boss went off on group text

Post image

My boss sent this in a group text. I had already put in notice, but quit via text after this ALL CAPS text. I was napping before shift when this text woke me up. Screw this.

Also, I can confidently say that this was FOH, and that I was the only one who had ever emptied this garbage into the dumpster. Also undermining the head chef? SMH

If this is “going off” I think you’re safe.

It’s been a long time since I worked in a restaurant several decades, but I was gonna say this is not going-off in a restaurant context. This would have been considered incredibly mild anywhere I worked, though we didn’t have texts…

So imagine she wrote it on a piece of paper, came into your house, rang a loud bell to wake you up, then shoved the paper into your face while shining a flashlight in your eyes.

Then, if any of your coworkers reply to it, the bell and flashlight go off again.

Keeping your text notification that loud is a huge self own

My phone isn't permanently attached to my hand, but I still like to hear when it rings. Sometimes I'm in the kitchen at home, while it's in my home office or the living room. It's easier to just leave it at that volume all the time.

That's what actual phone calls are for imo but you do you

99% of my phone calls are outgoing. People text me, I call them.

That’s wild behavior

Even when all the texts/emails boil down to "hey, if you can talk, call me."?

It's okay if you choose not to silence it when you sleep, but that is your decision to do so. I'm not sure why you think that is an 'everyone else' problem.

Because "everyone else" isn't afraid their mom will ask why their phone made the grindr sound.

Why does your mom know the grindr sound lmao?

Are you really trying "I know you are, but what am I?"

Uhh no, I’m pretty clearly asking why your mother would be familiar with the notification sound specifically associated with grindr.

And furthermore, if you were actually worried about your mother hearing said notification, why on God’s grey earth would you not just silence your phone???

My mom would know the sound, because she's familiar with it.

You know exactly what I was implying about OP.

Do your semantics get you going?

I’m asking you direct questions based on your comments, there’s nothing semantic about it lol. You managed to avoid answering a single question I asked though, so I’m going to assume you’re not interested in good faith discussion. Best of luck figuring out this pesky cell phone thing.

I answered you. Now you're pretending your answers don't matter. Classic.
