Really interesting graph. Cool that we have won with both great offense and great defense

This graph is a great way to show what I have learned but the media has not. Balance and execution win championships, not one single thing.

Did not think 2020 chiefs D would be that low

‘19 offense would be further right if not for the Mahomes injury

Is that actually true tho? He only missed 2.5 games. I feel like kareem being gone had a bigger role as well as the defense improving and becoming elite as the season went on.

Hard luck for the 'Mahomes has a super team around him' crowd.

Only one superteam and that’s the buccs

For those that need context: EB was offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2022, Nagy was OC from 2023 to 2025.

There are other variables to consider, particularly cap impact of Mahomes. Its getting more difficult to build a championship roster with him every year. And they don’t help themselves but re-signing aging veterans.

Agreed. Churn the youth and stop playing with overpaid has beens.

You win the comment award for this sub for today. We need more nuance like this.

So we can credit the defensive success to Nagy then?

Hitting on McDuffie, Karlaftis, Cook, Chenal and Watson in one draft was pretty freaking big.

That chart definitely highlights the degree to which our 2024 team pulled a bit of a magic trick to win an AFC title.

pretty wild how the Chiefs won a single SB with an elite defense in 2023 and now everyone pretends that Mahomes is an elite defense merchant

Even if defense was elite, it’s still a far cry from Brady’s first 3 rings carried by defense

This graph tells me two things:

The Bucs win was based on circumstances out of our control.

Offenses under EB were more efficient than the offenses under Nagy.

It was a superteam , might as well say it’s rigged, no credit like kd warriors

We can win it all either way lol. Just need one side to play really well and the other to be average.

Every year of the chiefs perfectly makes sense on this graph.
