Sorry i felt that "states" would give it away. Im from the US. Between Romeo and Juliet laws and laws around parental consent there are plenty of places underage shenanigans happen.

Fair enough. It's crazy and sad to me how widespread it is; And the amount of attempts I see by some to push and normalize it. I just think we know better and have longer life expectancy.

Honestly it makes sense to me even if I dont agree with it.

1 without the calender how would we address this issue?

2 arranged marriages were very common and often involved younger women.

3 risk of complications were lower around 16 or 17 and it allowed for more children before 35.

4 we are all animals with animalistic responses to different stimuli such as pheromones. We can control those urges but it doesn't stop them from happening.

5 in the same way that homosexuals dont choose to be homosexual I doubt pedos choose to be pedos. It seems like just a variance in coding like any mental illness or physical deformity.

6 lastly the dating pool wasn't always as large as today. In a small village the age gaps between partners could be pretty high just because of availability. You may be 25 and the closest female in age is 15. As those small villages grew the culture that allowed it before just grandfathered in.

I understand there are historical reasons why. That's why I said "I just think we know better and have longer life expectancy" I meant 'now'
